Good, but tended to get overplayed.

They won the Super Bowl 2 years ago but I'm still a Giants fan ,so call me indifferent.

Oh, not those Eagles... :D

Tom said it best, they're in too heavy a rotation on the CR stations but "Already Gone" is still the greatest "Don't let the door hit your ass on the way out ,darlin'" song of all time.

They ruled for many years!:headbanger:

I put them in the same category as CCR.

CCR had a lot more balls than the Eagles; Eagles were a pop group and CCR could rock.

I mean as far as love them , hate them or overplayed.

Great harmonics (New kid in Town, Lying Eyes, Tequila Sunrise) good guitar riffs / solo (Hotel California) great power ballads (Desperado). Their music crossed over into country. Their greatest hits album is now the number one selling album of all time. The band ranks 3rd behind the Beatles and Led Zeppelin in all time album sales. They have a very broad appeal.

CCR was a ROCK band :headbanger::headbanger::headbanger:
Eagles were the band you played at the start of the party.
CCR signalled the PARTY!

I always liked The Eagles especially with Joe Walsh. But back in the day I don't think I owned any of their stuff. Didn't need to as they were all over FM Rock radio. Some of the stuff a tad overplayed but again much respect, I have a dvd of an early performance on Don Kirschner with Linda Ronstadt tgat is awesome.

CCR are the shit, love that band.

I was a DDJ at a bar in the mid 70's and Eagles were biggly requested.
I had to always two copies of some of their stuff.
Remember 89 cent 45's?

But Up Around the Bend always spiked the bar sales!

They are overyplayed because they appealed to a very broad spectrum of listener. I think they were all very talented and always like their music. Definitely took a step forward when Joe Walsh joined.

Agree - Walsh, Frey, Henley all had successful solo careers as well.

The Eagles are the best Presbyterian rock band ever.

Doobie’s are a close second.
