So many were so young when they went through the time of the great war that they couldn't have possibly been wise, but they were definitely strong, survivalists. Remembrance Day has me on that line of thought --they went through much suffering and we ended up benefitting from their sacrifices now having so many luxuries (just as they wished to achieve for their descendents).

Could it be that people can only become "strong survivalists" when they have to endure 'suffering'? When life affords us with the comfort that luxuries can buy...what sort of "strong survival" instincts could we develop as a result?
Comfort breeds lethargy...and struggle builds strength. |
