The Democrat's Strategy

  • The Democratic House will impeach Trump.
  • The Republican Senate will acquit Trump.
  • The Democrats do not want the Senate to convict Trump. They see Trump as the most vulnerable nominee the Republicans can field in 2020. They don't want to go against Pence or some other nominee.
  • The Democrats will turn the 2020 election into the real impeachment trial. The Democratic nominee will press Trump on every point raised in the articles of impeachment.
  • 19 Republican Senators are up for re-election in 2020. Any of these who voted to acquit will be pressed to justify their vote.

They are trying to influence people by impeaching him.
They know he is probably unbeatable in 2020.

Whatever their motif, what he have here is CLEAR CUT obstruction of justice on the part of the 'rats, at the least.

Get things backwards much? The Dimwits have LOST on every single issue they have charged Trump with. In a nutshell, the deranged, hate-filled dimwits, IF they impeach him, know Trump will be acquitted in the Senate, and so their only answer to that is that Senate acted in a bipartisan way to protect "their" president -- as though that is going to convince the majority of voters that the House acted in a non-partisan, way in the interest of preserving and protecting the Constitution.

It is the dimwits who have placed themselves between a rock and hard place, and they know it because the impeachment poll numbers aren't favorable for them. Not at all! And they live and die by polls! For this reason alone (among others), I doubt they will impeach Trump. I am not convinced they will go through with it.

The most spurious statement of the decade.

Your arguments regarding anything substantial have been reduced to post like this?

What's to get backwards? I merely posted their strategy. I did not say it would work. We'll find out.

They'll look awfully foolish if they don't.

Tell that to the fools who think God officially installed a TV game show host as a TV game show president

I was forced to listen to a few minutes of George Stephanopolous of Sunday. On that show, someone said that the Democrats had proven their case during the hearings.

I found that absolutely laughable.

What they did was to STATE their case but they did not offer actual proof.

Of course, the house will vote for impeachment because they are the jury that will make the decision. Perhaps "hanging jury" is a more apt description.

Then, the ever-so-unbiased Democrats will claim that the senate was not "fair and unbiased" as the house was. LOL

Seriously, this entire process is nothing but a sham and a scam to slow down a Republican presidency. If you can make the WH concentrate on this crap for 6 months (of actual lost momentum) then they've effectively cut Trump's term by 6 months.

They will start all over with new impeachment proceedings as soon as Trump is reelected.

Interesting anecdotal side note is that a handful of my Democrat-friends have said that, while they are not yet ready to switch parties, they are very seriously considering voting for Trump. When asked, they all say that the Dem leadership simply is no longer trustworthy.

(Yes, I have a few of those and we rarely speak of politics.)
