Belmont Saturday, June 30, 2018 Value Plays

R1 MSW 2YrOlds, Turf 6f: :8: Plebe 8-1
First time starter with best turf pedigree in the field.

R2 ALN1X, Turf 8f: :4: Sweet Sting 9/2
Stumbled start last race but still still finished in the money. Trainer has best turf winning% of the bunch. Although :8 Mike Smith will be hard to beat here. I’ll be wheeling Sweet Sting in the 2nd & 3rd spots.

R3 CLM 8.5f : :3: Polar City 9/2
Won last race at open lengths at same track. Has the highest early Timeform pace in the field. Will be out in front and could wire the field that has very little speed.

R4 STAKES Turf 8f : :1: Feeling Bossy 6-1
Won his last race here on the front, five weeks ago. Well rested. Hot trainer this meet with turf stats better than Chad Brown.

R5 MSW 6f: :4: Souper Echo 15-1
Lots of value in this 6-horse field, which is unusual, anyone can win!. Coming off a long layoff , this 3rd-time-starter missed by a nose in her first two tries. Trainer excels off a long rest.

R6 MSW 8.5f Turf: :4: War Value 5-1
$600k Keenland purchase will be making her 2nd start after failing to fire in her first. Pletcher is 34% with 2nd starters, as well as 30% in MSWs.

R7 ALN1X 3YrOlds Turf 7f: :2: Five Start Blunt 9/2
Linda Rice rolls out this front-running 9th time starter off of a healthy 4-weeks rest, which is longer than most here. Did pretty well in open company in those eight tries (this race is a state bred).

R8 G2 3YrOlds Fillies 8.5f: :5: Coach Rocks 6/1
Got her ass kicked , two back, in the Ky Oaks but it was on the slop. Won the GP Oaks before and came in second last race in the Black Eyed Susan at PIM.

I bet the 5 in the opener. Breaking 5 furlong from the 6 hole is basically breaking on the turn. Took money, mud in his face but he ran 3 furlongs. Nice work tab. Very nice work patterns actually.

11-1 15 minutes to post.

Wow. Three scratches in the R8 Mother Goose, including my :5: . Down to four runners.

My :8: looked good until the last furlong all chalk wins. :(

Yea, Good race though. Look for those 2 YO at Saratoga. The winner was real. Ran greenly but had a nice oomph at the wire.
