Todd County heavily leans Democratic in politics. Similar to most other Native American-majority counties, Hillary Clinton won the majority of votes in Todd County in 2016. In 2020, Joe Biden received a larger majority of the county vote. The last election in which the Republican nominee won the county was in 1960 which the Richard Nixon-Henry Cabot Lodge Jr. ticket carried the county.

Mellette County is a county in the U.S. state of South Dakota. As of the 2020 census, the population was 1,918

The counties surrounding Oglala Lakota County are predominantly Republican, but, like most Native American counties, residents of Oglala Lakota are mostly Democrats, giving over 75 percent of the vote to every Democratic presidential nominee in every election back to 1984, making it one of the most Democratic counties in the United States.

Unlike neighbouring West Carroll Parish, and Louisiana generally, East Carroll Parish is a Democratic stronghold, owing primarily to its majority African-American population.

While Texas has become a Republican Party stronghold in the 21st century, Brooks County remains solidly Democratic. The only Republican to have carried Brooks County was State Comptroller Susan Combs, who ran unopposed for re-election in 2010

Notice a pattern?

The Hill | by Rebecca Beitsch and Mychael Schnell - 04/10/24 2:19 PM ET
Group of Republicans blocks FISA bill with spy powers deadline looming:
https://thehill.com/homenews/house/4...ers-rule-vote/

Quote:

Led by Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) and other MAGA-aligned conservatives, the group offered conflicting rationales for blocking the bill.

They were upset with Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) for backing the legislation without a warrant requirement, even though their upheaval means the warrant amendment they insisted has broad support will no longer get a vote.

“What we ended up with was a bill that didn’t have the warrant protections in the bill. It was going to be forced to be added as an amendment. And then the Speaker of the House put his finger on the scale against the amendment. And that pretty much is the story,” Rep. Chip Roy (R-Texas), who voted against the rule, told reporters after the vote.

The move also shows that the long-running feud between the House’s Intelligence and Judiciary members over the matter is alive and well – the group of conservatives had also insisted a prior Judiciary bill instead be brought to the floor, legislation they argue places greater limitations on FISA.

Leaving the vote on Wednesday, Johnson said the House GOP conference would “regroup and reformulate another plan” to extend the country’s spying powers.

“We cannot allow section 702 of FISA to expire. It’s too important to national security. I think most of the members understand that,” he added.
The Country may not be completely dead yet despite concerted efforts to take us there.

Hard to imagine the framers of this country thinking it would be a good idea to grant agencies like the FBI warrantless search capability by secret court(s) for the purpose of spying on American citizens.

Imo, turning FISA courts on US citizens on American soil kind of violates the The Fourth Amendment.

...and never believe a word mostpost says!

Believe this. 39 counties in Illinois have a worse poverty rate than Cook County. Several of those have rates more than double the rate of Cook County. Harris County (Houston) in Greg Abbott Texas has a higher rate. Miami Dade, Fl. Has a higher rate. The ten Illinois counties with the highest poverty rate voted overwhelmingly for Trump in 2020.

The unemployment rate in Cook County is 5.2% not 20-25%. More than half the counties in the state have a higher rate. Nine of the ten counties in Illinois with the highest unemployment rate voted for Trump.

You don't see it do you? If they voted for change (Trump) that means they have given up on Dems. The Dems lost them some time ago and will continue to lose them until they realize they exist. Just because they don't yell as loud as transvestites and muslims doesn't mean they don't have real problems. Maybe if you recognized that, you would have gotten the point of that statistic you quoted.

Dummy.
