Capture or download on line video

Anyone know an easy program to do this?
Nothing professional, just want to download (or capture) and save some videos
I see on the internet, not just on YouTube.

Anyone using Real Player for this?

Needs to work on XP......

You might want to think about using a browser add-on. For Firefox there are over 500 extensions related to video downloads and I'm sure Chrome has at least that many. I use 1-Click YouTube Video Downloader on rare occasion, but AFAIK that's only for YT. I'm sure you can find something that will work for you by searching for add-ons. Obviously the big gotcha is XP, so you might have to try several to see if one works for you.

The above is totally free and works with a number of online video sites. Says it works with XP.

You can use it to download videos, and you can also convert videos to other formats. Even though it looks like it is meant to covert every single time, you don't have to...it saves all the downloads to a folder on your PC...you do not have to convert them. I've used this software from time to time, so it has my seal of approval...lol

Although I haven't used it in a while, I recall when installing it there was no bloatware or anything that tries to trick you into installing some intrusive browser search bar or anything semi-malware like that...as you might get with some other "free" software.

There is a free version of camtasia whose name I don’t remember at the moment that might work.

Camstudio according to google

Thanks, guys.
I found both of those today, but thought I get input first.
I'll try 'em both.

Good luck trying to use these for horse racing videos from Roberts. I have no problems downloading from the tracks that upload to Youtube, but when it comes to other tracks, I use a screen recorder. I use OBS Studio which is free and works great.

For other stuff extensions work just fine. Chrome blocks Youtube downloading but there are ways around it, while Firefox has several that work well.
