George Krikorian Drops Bombshell at CHRB Meeting

Today was 2018 racing dates meeting...

Proposed the board consider ONE California Racing Circuit. Combine NorCal and SoCal.

But don't panic Jim Cassidy was there to represent the horsemen and he did his job of getting the bucket of status quo water up the hill. Said one circuit isn't realistic, problem is the claiming rule, people not racing horses enough and horses leaving the state. Also mentioned the problem with the Titanic wasn't the hole in the hull it was the placement of the deck chairs and the quality of the orchestra.

So nobody panic. Horse Racing in California is still dying its slow death and the CHRB in partnership with the CTT are here to make sure it continues to die.

Yes I know all the racetracks in the state are owned either by a 81 year-old man or an 84 year-old man but rest assured this is all going to work out and none of that land worth hundreds of millions will fall into the hands of developers even though the other two racetracks in the state did.

Status Quo. Everything is fine. Nothing to see here.

They don't need to be "assisted", they can do it all by themselves....Screw 'em, screw Cali racing...:rip:

As long as Cassidy and his neighbor can bill a day rate to their clients for 40 horses, everything is okay with California racing from a trainers standpoint. The trainers are living perfectly fine off the day rate. Nothing needs to change.

If the Stronach Group is serious about the future of California Racing they have to make a deal with Pomona. There is no other option.

A mile X-tra wide turf course so horses can work on the outer half and to run 4 two week turf meets per year. A dirt course inside the turf course.

2000 Modern Stalls

Lights to run or work at night.

A state of the art Veterinary Clinic that showcases how well we treat the horses. Maybe and equestrian center funded by another party nearby.

If they’re not willing to spend the money and make a deal then they don’t see a future in California and are prepared for slow death.

Now it's your turn to offer your solutions to the problems we face in Ca.

What would you do to replace the Hollywood Park turf course/training center?

What adjustments would you make to the wagering menu and takeout rates if any? How about breakage?

Finally what is your strategy to grow handle and revenue by growing the game along with your marketing plan?

Lay it out!
