who gets excited over a transgender playmate? I do not understand who their target market is.

I could see someone curious to see if a person can tell something isn't right. That would be eliminated by the fact Playboy models have been airbrushed and photo shopped since their existence.They have even went as far as drawing C-cups on A-cup models, they are worse than lame, totally fake. I never liked their magazine for that reason even going back to when a nudie magazine was a real thrill as a young kid. As for a transgender nude model you could not pay me enough to look, it would give me nightmares.

I cancelled my subscription 10 years ago after having one since the 70's. The women to me were no longer pretty and weren't natural. The magazine had made an even sharper turn to the far left with its stories and lame bullshit. I always liked the annual football forecast. Whoever authored that was pretty good. The annual music poll went to shit altogether.
I'm not at all shocked with the transgender move. Personally I'm sickened by the thought of even picking up an issue. When Christi Hefner stepped down several years ago, any hope for the publication went with her. Playboy will become extinct, and in large part to its liberal management. Conservative middle aged men were a broad base for Playboy. I don't see many of them scampering to the newsstands or buying subscriptions any longer. Even Playboy was always held to a moral standard of some degree. Its simply not there anymore.
