DMR Pick 5 for 11/9
 

Race 1 Weak group of 20k Claimers starts the day.

Will use

:2: in good form
:3: horse for the course but will be overbet (Hollendorfer is much better in sprints off the claim than routes)
:4: ran the best race last out and may even move up for new connections (Saldana is the anti-Dorf in that his routers run better than sprinters off the claim)
:6: back class edge and may return to good form with new barn, don't care much for the jock though

Possible win bets on the 2 (@10-1 or better) and the 4 and/or 6 at 4-1 or better.

Race 2 Orderly Maiden Claimer

:1: has failed as odds-on in back to back races. But have to use her.

:3: the logical alternative


Possible win bet on the 3 at 4-1 or better

Race 3

Competitive turf route

:1: Ran two credible efforts at GG off a rest. Fits

:2: Off a nice win but will be overbet with these connections

:7: throw out the dirt effort and has had bad luck in recent turf trips.


Trying to defeat the :8: who has had three archetypal perfect trips for Prat. He's back on today but she's posted outside and there is other speed inside.

Will bet the 7 to win at 4-1 or better. And may look to hedge with win bets on the 5 Sapphire Kid, whose turf race two back wasn't bad, and the 6 Scathing who got a bone-head ride last out. Will bet both to win at 10-1 or better.

Race 4
Chaotic 100k maiden claimer

:1: Baffert firster

:4: Ruis does good work with first time starters and it will be underbet

:5: Eurton good with turf to dirt angle and I think its dirt race was as good as any one else's.


Will mostly use the Baffert horse but will bet the 4 and 5 to win at 10-1 or better.

Race 5 Contentious turf route

:2: Got suckered into a speed duel last out and has worked nicely since.

:3: Van Dyke gets aboard and she gets class relief.


I'm against Take a Leap with Mike Smith aboard today. She ran the best Beyer in the field last out with a perfect set-up (looked more like a dirt race the way the pace developed and her middle move). I'm still not sure where that figure came from last time. Maybe she's just greatly improved. Her races two and three back were nothing great. I have to play against.
