Canterbury, July 19

I'll try to play Canterbury again as it was washed out last week. And Dum-Dum didn't check the forecast until AFTER I had done the work:blush:. Thunderstorms are in the mix for tonight so it may be summer reruns again. And as I said last week, Canterbury has been a tough track for me to figure out.

All bets are W/P unless otherwise stated. If I catch them in time, any scratches will be replaced before betting begins on that race (to avoid the influence of how the horses are being bet);otherwise it will be a non bet.

Betting music and for once betting is part of the tune. There have been songs about horse racing ("Stuball", "The Race Is On", "Run for the Roses",etc.)but this is the only song I know of that is about greyhound racing. It's a song by the Who called "Dogs".It reached # 25 in the UK charts in 1968 but wasn't released in the US until a 1990's box set.Probably too "British" for the American market, with the Cockney accented singing , references to White City (London dog track) and "the Duke's dog" ,Prince Philip, aka the Duke of Edinburgh, who owned several racing greyhounds.
