Firing all those people is nothing to be proud of, and it certainly doesn't signify leadership.
It wasn't that his picks were bad. Tillerson, for example, seemed to be getting the hang of being Secretary of State. What Trump didn't think about is that a guy like Tillerson has been on top of one of the largest corporations in the world. He's not an errand boy. He is a sharp businessman with skills and connections that were stymied by Trump. A smart manager tells you the policies and what s/he needs and then lets you take care of it. Apparently he stopped trusting Tillerson pretty soon after he appointed him.
Trump as a manager hasn't impressed me. As far as I can tell, he only trusts Jared and Ivanka and neither of them have accomplished much in a year.
