And for the Dems, it's not about Kavanaugh either. They no doubt would have tried to do the same with Gorsuch, but couldn't even come up with charges as shaky as those against Kavanaugh.
Some say approval of Kavanaugh would hurt the GOP with women voters in November. I doubt it. I think failure to confirm him would hurt the GOP with many voters. They would not vote Dem, they just would not vote, out of disgust with the GOP and the process.
