Home games are an option if one can find them but they become harder to beat (and more boring) with time given their very small player pool. Maybe now is the time to explore one's on-line poker options.

Having played home games for 25 years, I found them easier than games with all strangers. When new guys showed up, they were usually indeciperable until they played a few times. A former DA for our county came to one of the home games years ago. He would later become semi-famous because he blew out one of his eyes with a spud gun, while celebrating the 4th of July with his semi-famous brothers. Three of them died unexpectedly in bizarre ways, over the next couple years.
