Along with everything else
Watch the pan shot and then the head on shot of the start for R1 today 04-12-2018 at Gulfstream.
The #8 horse, Song Of Melody, second choice in the wagering at 7/2, was vehemently tossing her head about in the gate --
The starter pushed the button anyway -- and imo, her race was over at that point.
I realize sh#t happens.
But I'm not talking about an isolated incident.
This is about the 40th time over the past few months I've witnessed the Gulfstream starter push the button while it was clear one or more horses had yet to settle - or were more than just a bit active in the gate.
If I can see it from the pan shot:
How the hell does the starter - whose job it is to make a good faith effort to ensure a fair start - not see it?

That Pic6 mandatory payout day (not the last one, the one before) blunder in the final leg was bad. GP does seem to have more than other tracks.

And in R3, with #4 Stronger clearly yet to settle and tossing his head about:
The Gulfstream starter pushes the button yet again.
The horse comes out of the gate at a predictably awkward angle -- and "stumbles."
Bordering on the ridiculous at this point.

Starter was winding his stopwatch in case....for when ...the timer failed.

Good luck if you contact Gulfstream about this. They won't care.

I won't play there anymore, either. Their issues with the starter, timing, CRW late money and run-ups have been well documented here. But the thing that irks me the most is how long it takes to get the horses to the gate. Six or seven minutes after the listed post time is par for the course. That's an insult.
Yesterday, the horses in the 9th race didn't get to the gate until 9 minutes after the clock hit 0 minutes to post. And when they finally did, I noticed that the horses at Oaklawn were just entering their gate (Oaklawn was on time, as usual). I don't know if that was a coincidence but it almost seems like GP planned it that way. Regardless, delaying their starts until well after the 0 minutes to post time is the main reason why I won't play there anymore.

Both GP and Santa Anita have been matching OP a lot this year, it is not by chance.

Trifecta,
I'm almost positive Gulfstream does it on purpose.
They always try to eat into the time for their main competition.
Do it to NY all winter. Not that NY is that strong in winter.
Still.
They're about as cheating an operation as you'll find IMO. For a multitude of reasons I'm not going to get into now.
Why do big bettors like them? Rebates is one reason.
I'd like to see Jeff and HANA organize a boycott of GP. I'd be behind it 1000%.

Gulfstream does it too often for it to be a coincidence. They even did it on World Cup day with Meydan.

I would say call the racing commission but they are just as bad as GP management
This is one of many reasons why I don't play, nearly what I did, for a sport that doesn't care, like they should.
