Shouldn't you be saying up to 3.4 haven't read the law but most give judges discretion on cash awards. Most appeals are based on the monetary amount the judge awarded not so much about the injured party like MP.
Once again please show a link where 3.4 is mandatory I would love to see it. If you have to use pacer it will cost a dime. I'll send you a buck via paypal so everyone else can be informed.

The NJSEA partnered with Darby and began operating under a five-year lease as a partnership with Darby Development, LLC.
William Hill was named the sports betting operator at MP in 2013, hence the "William Hill Haskell", Hill also spent a small fortune setting up the "Las Vegas" style sportsbook in anticipation of NJ getting sports wagering in the not to distant furure, call it a hedge if you will. On the same subject Jeff Gural teamed up with an investor Hard Rock International who sunk a significant amount of money into the Meadowlands in hopes of getting a casino there in the not too distant future. In regards to Betfair, they purchased TVG in 2009 they also teamed up with the NJ horseman to do the exchange wagering. TVG was given the green light to run the "online" wagering platform known as njbets.com which was given over to the horseman with the Favorites OTW platform in Woodbridge NJ. The expansion of the OTWs has been slow but a new Favorites will open in Hillsborough NJ once the Racing Commission figures out some minor issues with a ground lease arrangement. I hope I shed some light on your concerns, have a Great Thanksgiving!

The one thing that befuddles me is why didn't betfair even attempt to at least enter the sports wagering side in NJ? I keep asking myself (I know dumb for asking) that and can't come up with anything. It's far easier to make money on sw than a nine race card yet they chose to sit on the sidelines. They have a huge infrastructure up in northern California that's set up for ew. I'm sure a few minor tweaks and it would be able to do it faster and better than anyone for sw.

Win the case, it appears that they have already lost the case.
With this new congress, there will be no changing of the law anytime in the near or far future which would be the only way that sports betting expands.
The race tracks better start taking care of what is left of their customer base before the party is over for them.
(Example: Churchill Downs)

Where do you come up with this stuff? The judiciary system allows for a court, Judge Shipp to defer to another court hence the Third Circuit, so no one has won or lost anything as of yet until the Third Circuit decides if it is capable of moving forward and hearing the case or defers to the Supreme Court, which isn't going to happen. So if I was a betting man, and I am, this case will be heard before a panel of three judges in 2015, aka the Third Circuit, once they render a decision you can then say you were right or wrong. Until then enjoy the holidays!

The lawyers, judges, and courts can go thru all the hearings and motions that they want, but the real fact is that only congress can change the law.
The only people making money on all these legal motions are the lawyers.

Judges change laws all the time, haven't you been following gay marriage saga.
People say one thing, the judges say another, and the judges opinions are law.
When did congress pass a gay marriage act, i musta missed that one.

A judge can't change a law, that's for governments to do. They can however interpreter the laws in different ways or rule that certain provisions supersede a law. In terms of your example of gay marriage, at least here in Canada, there was a law on the books however it was ruled by a judge that it conflicted with our Charter of Rights and Freedoms which supersedes everything and thus making the law invalid.

What does your question (besides skirting mine) have to do with MP being awarded any amount of money? Previously you admitted that it is a drop in the bucket for the sports leagues.
Go spend a dime at pacer (again I'll send you a dollar) and see what MP asked for in damages. If sports wagering is going to make that much on sw its less than a days handle.
Once again you haven't been right in three and a half years but BOLDLY assert that MP will get the entire sum IF the court rules in their favor. Once upon a time the NFL was found guilty in 1986 while defending themselves in an antitrust case. The jury was so appalled at the way the NFL operated they awarded the USFL a humungous sum of $3 after the damages were tripled.
Yet you seem that for the first time going on four years you will be spot on with the correct amount awarded. Do you realize how hard it is for someone to go that length of time without being right once? Maybe you should put it up on the betfair exchange.
