Lots off meat one that bone.
I'm sure someone could sit down and come up with a "model" or "system" that ignores mainstream factors and focuses on $$$ factors.

The material on Maiden Claimers alone is priceless.

STILL re-reading and absorbing the material.

QWSLR - dynamite indicator.
One of HTR's big factors is the Razor WO, which this is not this, but comes from the same handicapping genius mind.

Razor / Razor Sharp - a proprietary workout rating in HTR.

Yes, Tom can correct me, but I believe Meadow defines a QWSLR as a 4f work in the top 10% of workers on the day or a 5f work in the top 20% of workers on the day

this is why this game is so fun.....

Is it speed of the workout?

Is it how the trainer trains horses?

Is it how the horse runs?

Theres a few theories that you need to look at beyond the rank of that work out

Correct - within 21 days and sine the last race.
Razor = razor workout - details not revealed, only available in HTR.

Using the razor QW in conjunction with other factors is a good
tool. Say, third start off layoff, QW last week.
Endless ways to use it.

The book examines large datasets and attempts to find potentially profitable angles - can't disagree with any of your points, of course

Thxs Sar Mike

When your doing this over 40 years you've seen it all....

With this case....heres one

3 excellent fast work outs ranks 1 & 2 for each day

Now look at the PP's

The horse shot to the lead in every race

ends up last in every race

Quality Work Out?

mikesal,

We can't expect to win every race. You can find 100 more examples like the one you just posted, and I could find 100 examples of a QWSLR that pointed to the winner. Statistics are never a replacement for good (common) horse sense. And horses don't race in isolation; what do the other horses' PPs look like? Statistics are static; racing is dynamic. As a handicapper you have to start somewhere, so why not a place that shows something positive?

An average handicapper and superior bettor, beats a superior handicapper and an average bettor in the long term....

You want to UP your game?....Learn how to be a great bettor, especially in the horizontals. You'll never look back.

Elite players are superior in all phases of the endeavor.
