Very important news: Eighty-one cents to the good net. I will choose to be grateful.

I won a little money on the Derby card but nothing on the Derby. After all the late changes to the field in recent years, I might just wait until morning of the race next year to cap it. I bet Forte over Two Phil’s and Angel but not Mage. Maybe if I wasn’t so clusterducked after all the changes, I might have took a stab with the horse that darn near beat Forte.

Mage vs Forte
Mage,
After seeing this colt take down the roses 🌹, I think Forte would have murdered this field
That wasn't my opinion pre race. I hope they square off agsin in the Preakness or Belmont. Maybe become arch rivals. Could make for a great horse racing season.!!

so now i am going with my original derby selection before he ever saw an afternoon racetrack over a year ago. he is tough to play mainly because he only has broken his maiden and it took him 2 races to do that and his last race in the Lexington left plenty to be desired. if you can throw out the last race and give him credit for training better than any of the other 19 horses in this race, you have a big price to shoot at. also, it looks like he has the perfect post position to get the job done.
it is going to be DISARM for me tonight

he ran 4th, but the top 4 all ran big. i don't really see FORTE beating any of these 4 in the next leg.

with with 22. for third and fourth. Then put Forte in the third and fourth spots with those horses. That super should pay real well if it comes in.

Thank you. We host a Derby Party every year and there's 40-50 people here. There was 4 of us who had good days.

But my comment here is more on the wager itself. The $1 ex box $20.00 bet is an absolute favorite of mine for the Derby. Relatively low investment and a lot of the field covered. May not hit for a lot, but it’s great fun for little cost.

Never got around to posting the final - but it was a box. Second and third. Would have paid $55 for the $20.
I threw in a small win bet on #23, because I hung out for a while in Moquett's box on Rebel Day when KING RUSSELL broke his maiden.
I also threw in a small win bet on - a "schadenfreude" bet, because that would have been the only way for me to enjoy a win by the Baffteen REINCARNATE, which would have been the most fitting horrible ending to an ugly week at CD.
