They paid 10 places: 50% to 1st, 17.5% to 2nd, 10% to 3rd, 7.5% to 4th, 5% to 5th, 3% to 6th, 2.5% to 7th, 2% to 8th, 1.5% to 9th and 1% to 10th.
This should be done in major races over here, or maybe even all races over here - except maybe make 2nd 18% and 4th 7%.
And for those who would say that 50% is too low a share to the winner, this has been the standard in harness racing from Day One - and nobody has ever kvetched about it.
