What's the data source for RaceLens? Is it the same as the PDF charts results or GPS data results?

All I can tell you is "Powered By Equibase" and you can access both "regular" and GPS data. A recent update allows more options for working with that GPS data.

I'm thinking ubercapper could provide a clearer answer.

I'm building my own queries and searching - so they're not throwing anything out to me. And they allow you to take your query result and slice it down to samples anywhere in that 1-5 year range (or even down to months) - which I often do for just the reasons you mention.

There's a LOT of substance in RaceLens - but it's best to do the "sculpting" yourself.
The lack of newsletters is a very good thing as for me. To be honest, I never read them, and if I get too many, I put filters in my inbox.

Too cumbersome using equibase charts. a laborious process that entails printing each individual race out on its own page. At work I have access to "single column" charts that fit an entire card onto two pages.

Does anyone know of a way to find complete and inclusive charts similarly formatted ? And by that, again, I mean with entire race cards printable to one or two pages.

it takes me a half hour to enter my watch list into weekend racing menu.

a little more options and personalization would be appreciated with much of the data.

I hope someone speaks up with a better solution, but all I know are the equibase charts and then clicking on 'ALL RACES'. I use a laptop fortunately suits my eyes for charts and replays, but an event day would be ~20 clunky pages if I preffered to print it out.

The data for Race Lens comes from the Equibase database, the same as used by DRF, Timeform, HDW and all other providers of consumer products for North American racing.

terrible...would I bet that ?...No way!!

I can give you more detail when this weeks comes out ..If you want

You're referring to the Inside Track newsletter, of which only a part contains a "stat of the week." I'm not aware of the selections but if there are selections I don't believe they are from Race Lens. This stat is much less substantive than what Tom is talking about and any selections from Race Lens come from the "True Odds" module, which is based on quantitative analysis algorithms developed by Stats Perform. However, these are user dependent and can be modified based on 100s of factors.

What Tom is referring to is allowing the user to run a specific query on shippers from one track to another, using a wide net, or narrowing down to just sprints, routes, or other factors.

I am pretty sure I have run queries on shippers from Woodbine to Gulfstream in the past but must have deleted them. I am running one now and will post the results when time permits.

WO to GP shippers. Overall results, last three years (since GP installed Tapeta):
155 starts in 135 races. 17% wins, 8% place, 14% show. ROI on win bets -10%.

There was one 35 to 1 shot which skews the results a bit but given the -10% overall ROI there is room for profitable angles, though not guaranteed, by looking at turf to AW, as well as sprints, routes, and perhaps certain trainers.

In glancing at the details, 13 of the 26 winners (50%) were trained by Drexler or Casse. Two were trained by Saffie Joseph.

That being said at the current GP meet the results are much poorer:
36 starts, 14% wins, 6% place, 22% show, ROI -54%

Based on the superset, I'm running a query for Casse and Drexler only.

I apologize. I did not realize this went out in newsletter form. I understand your point now.

However, I would add, and I think Tom (Barchyman) would agree, an angle is only as good as the horse so whenever anyone using the product sees a positive angle it serves as an alert to qualify the horse based on other handicapping factors one would normally use. Angles are not meant to be bet blindly based on past results but serve as an alert to look more closely at the horse itself.

An example is I have angles for first time starters by Constitution and by Good Magic. There were four of those last week and three were not likeable for other reasons. One of them, the Constitution first time starter in the second race at Gulfstream Park on Saturday (1/27) qualified on all counts such as trainer, jockey, workouts, and he paid $18 to win.

Again, I apologize. I got two different weekly emails mixed up. The picture you posted was from the Weekly Angles email. This will continue to go out to those who have subscribed to it.
