Trump isn't really collapsing. He says that his approval rating is really 7 or 8 points higher than what the polls say.

I think he would beat any politician you would trot out, either side. Santa might beat him.

As of now, probably so. He is not going to maintain his popularity if he gets the trade war that he is trying to start. He admitted today that Wall Street would take a hit. What he never discusses is that after that, Main Street is going to take a hit as his tariffs eventually get passed on to consumers in higher prices.

"Maintain his popularity"
Discounting ridiculous Rasmussen, his poll numbers are abysmal.

That doesn't speak too well of Bernie.
The handshake is no secret. You don't shake any hand that doesn't have a check in it.

I kid you not. They both agreed that Trump has tons of supporters like that. They then added that their wives were lefties...
So I do believe it's a phenomenon where Trump is more liked than polls may reveal.

History shows that trade wars rarely last that long. They are like govt shutdowns. Everyone runs around like a chicken with their heads cut off in utter hysteria over the idea that we could do without govt for a week or two, but the reality is far less damaging. Sometimes the fear of something is greater than the actual something.
