I agree. Any rating system that gives Boxcar 47 points has to be looked upon with great suspicion, IMO.

Fantastic Dan was my primary example since at least mostpost will go and spar a bit in the horse racing section and it isn't inconceivable that his rep would be shit based on anything to do with horse racing. But Dan? All he does is salute old warriors and root for Finger Lakes as near as I can tell. And does it politely and respectfully. But, if you didn't realize that it is simply a product of posting links to SNL videos and snarky tweets in off-topic, you'd figure he was a wretch. It seems like off-topic should be weighted like 1 to 10 with horse racing or something.

It's quite obvious that these "rep-points" have little to do with our horseracing discussions here.

The most spineless thing that I've ever seen on this board is the idea of allowing people to leave anonymous messages like "you are an idiot" to us on our User CP page. If Marshall Bennett wants to call me an idiot...can't he do it out here in the open?

I gave someone a negative rep and their "rep power" went up !
I think that posts that get negative or positive rep votes should be reviewed by one of the moderators before the "rep power" is adjusted. That would be the fair way, but I'm sure all of the moderators also have a life. A wise man told me one day "if you can't do it the right way, don't do it at all".

The positives that I've given have not changed any of the recipient's reputation number.

All this talk about rep power I decided to look at the comments I got. The only neg on the short list said, "Your stupidity has no bounds.....you crazy **** ". No idea who posted that. I am sick and tired of liberals calling people stupid and ignorant just because they think differently. Any negs I ever give anyone I comment on the post, not the poster.

I never found out what that V-cash was about either. I took mine to Starbucks...and they told me that I still had to pay $3.45 for a tall caffe mocha.
