I guess that explains the mass migration out of this country we have been seeing for many years now.

We live in, and are part of, a global world economy. If you ignore reality, you will face the consequences.
In 2002, Bush tried to do what Trump is now trying to do. He was forced by reality to back down, and he destroyed 200,000 US jobs in the process. Those who ignore history are doomed to repeat it.

We have a new tax reform that Bush 43 did not have.
President Trump is in a unique position to exploit reciprocal trade, it will cost those who have a upper hand in free trade currently.

Bush didn't cut taxes?
Tariffs are a tax on American consumers.

He did a good job after 911, his team failed prior. I say look at today's corporate effective tax rate, the guy who works 15 to 20 hours overtime is loving his new tax rate. Mid term elections might be about making the individual effective tax rate permanent, you might be a old man before things swing your way. Lets see history in the making, there will be plenty of subject to post about.

Huh...huh???
Follow your bolded words:
Bush tried to do what Trump is now trying to do ... raise tariffs
He (meaning Bush) backed down from this idea, right? Yes, right.
He (Bush) destroyed 200,000 US jobs.
Wow, wow and wow some more.
Bush did what you feel Trump should do ... follow 'reality' and back down from this silly tariff idea. Right? Yes, right.
But, by backing from imposing tariffs, Bush lost 200,000 US jobs.
I can't believe the stuff I'm reading on here any more.

Bush cut taxes. I don't know how Donald cutting taxes makes the situation any more or less unique.
As far as swing my way I have no idea what you are talking about. I'm more pro-business and capitalist than you are. But regardless this is a market issue not a party one. The market will win over Trump and protectionist policy it ALWAYS has.
Capitalism is undefeated.

Perhaps I didn't phrase that as well as I could. And perhaps your reaction is a bit overly dramatic.
Bush imposed steel tariffs, which eventually cost 200K jobs. And he was forced by various factors to back off the tariffs. The lost jobs were the result of the tariffs and the fighting over them, not the result of removing the tariffs.

John F. Kennedy was a capitalist, democrats today are not. This is what we have going on. Your acumen in business give you no more leverage in your posts in dealing with trade imbalances we currently have. Truth is opinions are often proven over years, President Trumps opinions got him elected. If he shared lets say Marco Rubio's he would not be President today, but then again Marco Rubio would not be either.

And neither are Trump supporters.
Tariffs policy is proven to not be effective. I've quoted basically every major capitalist on the subject. You talk hyperbole.
Whats the benefit of tariff policy?
Here is Milton Friedman on the subject... talking about... you guessed it Steel... you know that thing we still supply 72% of our own demand in... this time it was the evil Japanese...

I will suggest that you do not know your ass from your elbow in who or what Trump supporters are. President Donald J. Trump has already rocked the world and is just getting started. He has changed the political landscape forever, do not count on the past being something that you can count on. By the time you say what, Trump will do something else that will make your skin crawl. The Trump agenda will move forward faster than you can complain.

Well... That certainly changed my mind.

Your ad hominem demonstrated my hypothesis on the subject nicely.

There’s a lot of different shades of Trump supporter.
I consider myself one.....but not deep in the weeds of it.
His agenda and the fact that he got tax reform and is killing regulations daily is huge in my mind. I never thought he would get it done. I went from “hell yeah, he beat the bitch!” To “I can’t believe he’s gone this far”
He’s made a bunch of mistakes, but most harmless. He can run off at the mouth all he wants..... I could give a shit.....as long as it keeps the left at bay. Even if he gets impeached, who cares. Pence will get even more done......
