I really hope he does along with Magnum Moon too. I do not have any real data but it seems like a lot of Pletcher's horses have a very limited racing career. Maybe because of their cost and breeding they are off to the breeding farm sooner. Maybe not. Just seems like his 3yo derby contenders are not around a long time.

It seems to me Pletcher cranks his young horses up early in their career trying to win stakes. Then they often don't develop as much later like they do for trainers that take a more patient approach. If he gets that stake win early, he's established the value of the horse. So it probably makes sense to retire them before the later bloomers catch up and pass them by.

Probably not a surprise his two Derby winners never won another race (so far, Always Dreaming possible I guess).

Yep. I'm the only person left on earth that thinks Always Dreaming won the Derby fair and square (not bias aided), went bad, and never developed like many other Pletcher horses.
