POTUS not expected to be invited to John McCain's funeral.
Wow CNN gets it right for once.

I fully expect Trump to hold an Irish wake for McCain at the White House.

Didn't you know? McCain doesn't care for Trump, so he deserves it.

No, his deplorable spirit is alive and well. I don't wish him death before his time, but I'm ready to move on from him as a senator from AZ. What kills McCain more than anything is that Trump was willing to say what many out there think, and that is to question why McCain is considered a war hero for simply getting captured and tortured. It's not like he single-handedly rescued his comrades from death, and in doing so got captured. Many veterans have had the misfortune of getting captured and tortured (maybe not as long as McCain, but still...), and yet they don't wear it in honor and use it to gain fame. I know many on here and around the country cannot fathom questioning such a thing, but if you look at it dispassionately, it's true. How DOES that make him a hero greater than anyone else that served. They are all heroes to a degree, and McCain is not above them. He did nothing special in my eyes. Trump went to the core of McCain's legacy belief and to McCain that is unforgivable.

Oh well, soon McCain will be dead and we won't have to deal with his poor statesmanship anymore. When you make political decisions to get back at others that you hold personal animus towards, it's time to turn the page, and I'm ready.

Except he could have been released and chose not to...

Not necessarily aimed at you but I think the term deplorable fits more often than it should.

McCain endured more for this country than anyone you or I likely personally know.

I think the only thing you're ready for is a couple more aspirin after you were kicked in the head by a mule..

typical liberal socialist. Why bother discussing the issue when it's so much easier attacking the poster. Besides, don't you have a social protest march today.

It still doesn't give him one iota of right to shit on this country for a personal vendetta. He has done that repeatedly this past year, and THAT is why I will be okay when he dies. He has gripped his seat for far too long when a real patriot would have given it to someone more able. Too many in Congress stay far too long. Same with the Supreme Court.
