So what you're saying is that you're still hungry?

Why is this "bizarre"? It is simply symbolic of how Trump will eclipse (obscure) the lights on the current democratic regime come November 5th, 2024..."the most important moment in human history," which, for the sake of humanity, it will be!

Went outside Mnr simulcast to witness my third eclipse. No glasses, just wanted the experience. Some cloud cover, but not to extreme extent. What a letdown. Darkness never passed point that might approximate a gathering storm-and not even a really severe one. Mostly hype.

Somehow, though, gears of the universe must have shifted, because my fortunes improved considerably when I went back into the horse parlor..

It was cool to watch...the flair was phenomenal... photo eyes kick on the area lights. North Star made an appearance. The Ring of fire last a bit then another flair of light and it started to wain. Now would I have travel across the country to see it. NO.

We got the 90% here as well. I'm definitely sure now unless your right in the swath, its a waste of time. It got a little less light, but we had high clouds that hazed the sun a bit anyway. At exactly 13:41 here...broad daylight almost.

I took a picture because you can never get close enough to get a good shot.

I know how scary this was for everyone, and I hope you made it through the emergency unscathed.

How in the hell did that happen?

And were you in a good position to be aggressive after the flop?

My town is at the very edge of the Path Of Totality as it cut through the Heart of It All. All I did was drive a few miles to a park where a friend had rented a picnic shelter, and it was worth it to experience it with other folks, several hundred in the part where we were. Weather was great. I liked the 5-10 minutes before and after totality the best, the desaturation of the light but everything was more clearly defined, very cool.

Yet overall, I agree with tucker's original assessments. The horizons were always lit; I forgot to look for the planets that were supposedly visible but the entirety of the sky never got planetarium-dark, so maybe I was expecting too much in that regard. The cool-down was noticeable, but that's it. (I wonder if viewers of the next one in Greenland and Iceland will notice the cooling.)

If I had been talked into driving hundreds of miles and paying for a motel and everything associated with a road trip, including monumental and sincere traffic jams, I'd have been very disappointed.
