Well, tonight's game sucked. Have to bounce back tomorrow and try to get back on win side of ledger. Braves are a cut above, good ball club.

Never mind the loss of the game - losing McNeil dooms us.

Yes, but reports are that the MRI showed injury to be a mild strain and he could be back in 10 days . . . but, of course, with track record of the Mets' crack medical and training staff, I wouldn't be surprised if it develops that he's out much longer. But hey, there's always hope that Jed Lowrie will finally make it onto the playing field

Slip sliding away . . . the manager is such a moron, with Matz at only 79 pitches after 6 with the lead and having set down the last 14 batters, why not pull him and go to the shaky bullpen for 3 innings, what could go wrong?!? What a dope! Even when they win, it's in spite of him

The run is over - you heard it here. Was fun while it lasted. Face it, they're not in the same conversation as Dodgers/Yankees/Astros/Braves this year.

Joe Panik
Good pick up by the Mets.
Panik has been a fine player for the Giants, and more than earned his ring in 2014.
I'm not convinced the Giants have made a good move letting him go.
Scooter Gennett may not be the answer for us down the road.
Joe Panik is from New York, so getting back near home should suit him.
He's a grade A glove, C+/B- at the plate. Streaky hitter with ups and downs.
Change of scenery won't hurt, though he has had back problems in recent years.
I'm pretty sure he will help the Mets, or wherever else he plays.

The Mets have now reached mediocrity . That's probably where they'll stay the rest of the season. When they hit, they don't pitch and when they pitch, they don't hit. Maybe next year. Seems like I say that every year lately.

Excellent win last night. Nice to see Lagares contributing on offense because they are significantly better defensively with him in CF and Conforto in right. Not thrilled about reading that Cano might actually be able to return this season, I'd rather not have him back, especially if Lagares keeps hitting, I'd rather have McNeil switching between 2B/3B and platoon Frazier at 3B against lefties and Panik at 2B against righties
