It was a fair day for me. Nothing spectacular. The late heavy rain screwed up my Derby Vertical picks.
How about you ? Any luck?

Only played 3 races...had family obligations that ran much later than I would have wished.

The impedance in the Derby might have cost me. A 7/1 7/5 would have been a nice hit. Of course I'll never know.

But the Mint Juleps I made, were a wire-to-wire winner by a wide margin

After the Derby race (I think it may have been my third visit) that year, I'm sitting and chilling several feet from a vendor selling them. Already half-in-the-bag, people are walking out and asking how much to buy one of my empty glasses (I had several stacked up to take home), I sold them for the same price as the vendor was selling them and pretty soon, I had added 4 or 5 more to my belly.
I think the tough part, as I recall, was getting back on my feet
