Iran, North Korea, "Stable Genius" Redux...
Now that peace with North Korea is at hand it's time for Iran... oh wait...
US intelligence agencies determine that North Korea is constructing new missiles: report
But I thought...
Oh well screw it...
A week after...
Trump has apparently decided it's now time again to break out the #MAGA stamp and do some photo ops...
Quote:
"I would certainly meet with Iran if they wanted to meet," Trump said during a joint news conference at the White House alongside Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte. "I do believe that they will probably end up wanting to meet. I'm ready to meet whenever they want to."
"No preconditions," he added. "They want to meet, I'll meet, whenever they want."
|
Everyone thinks this is a great idea except... everyone...
Quote:
"If the Iranians demonstrate a commitment to make fundamental changes in how they treat their own people, reduce their malign behavior, can agree that it's worthwhile to enter into a nuclear agreement that actually prevents proliferation, then the president said he's prepared to sit down and have the conversation with them," Pompeo said.
|
Meanwhile the dealbreaker-in-chief is suffering pretty low in the credibility department ever since that whole Iranian Nuclear Deal he ripped up... Iran has said it's not interested.
Apparently his shtick is up everywhere but around here.

Dude, you can embed tweets here. Just copy the link (don't use the embed feature on twitter...just the natural link will do).
But you probably blew that shit up to make some sort of point.
Don't worry. I'll fix it for you.

If NOTHING else happens, Trump has already been a win for me on N Korea.
There are many US troops remains now rightfully where they belong. More then any other president as best I can recall.....

Didn't US intelligence agencies say there were stockpiled weapons of mass destruction in Iraq? I wonder how often they are wrong?

"Kim Jong Un of North Korea proclaims “unwavering faith in President Trump.” Thank you to Chairman Kim. We will get it done together!"
End of tweet.
My comments:
I ask all the haters, what other president could form such a special bond? Another VERY nice gesture from "Chairman Kim!"

None of them.
They were all too busy bowing down to his demands for this and that to get anything done in N Korea. And some, just generally bowing down to anyone who happened to walk by.

Trump's North Korea strategy is the pinnacle of failure... same with Iran...
Never again will the United States be able to mount the pressure on those regimes it previously had...

The only part of what I said that was opinion was the failure part.
The statement that we will not be able to exert the same type of pressure on either regime we previously enjoyed is a fact. Easily available for anyone.
By the Trump Administrations own admission we do not have the leverage on North Korea we once enjoyed.
In regards to Iran the EU and other Iranian Trade partners have stated they will not comply with this round of United States sanctions.
These are verifiable facts.
I predicted them months ago... guess I'm still wrong.

Sure...
The Obama Administration simply never interacted with North Korea. That was better than the currently situation of legitimizing the regime. Furthermore engaging in a Trade Spat with the regimes largest trading partner at the same time is pretty foolish when you're seeking leverage in negotiations.
Iran... we had an agreement that prevented a Nuclear Iran for the foreseeable future... we now have nothing. The moderates in the Iranian government are now also being brought up on charges by the hardliners.... I'd say it worse.
Now explain to me how any of Trump's actions have made these situations better since the Obama Card is getting pretty tiring around here. Trying arguing in the affirmative for once and trot out the accomplishments of the Administration... oh wait...
Better yet... explain how this is delusional:
Quote:
Never again will the United States be able to mount the pressure on those regimes it previously had...
|
I've got my evidence... trot your shit out there.
Literally every ****ing thing I said that would happen in these two situations has happened... yet I'm the delusional one.

N. Korea's military parade Sunday features floats and flowers, no missiles.
Big positive statement from NK.
