What’s the word on Anothertwistafate? Where does he go next? I don’t think I’ve ever considered the winner of the ECR Derby but damn he looked impressive visually. Horses don’t usually win on the synthetic by the open lengths like he has and that makes me think he could be exceptionally good. I know the one dirt start was awful but it was his first start so I’m willing to give him another shot....or do the connections not even consider the KY derby as a goal? I think you could do worse on a future bet at big odds

Tacitus was a separate betting interest in pool 2, part of the field for pool 3

Instagrand is 13-1 right now. Who is betting that?

Winners of all three weekend preps part of the mutual field. It's likely a few more will pop up and a few listed names will falter. There's also the chance for a token Japanese or Euro horse not that I expect much from them. I played Game Winner and Improbable over and under. The inevitable Dallas Stewart screwball is covered. I save the chalk exacta pairings for Pool 4 if not Derby day as they often offer similar probables.

I played ,,21, 24 over ,,,21,24 and reversed for $3 base and put $50 win on the mutuel field $50 win on the field for the Oaks as well. I was trying to watch the odds, but was busy playing Oaklawn. I don't think I would have played the field at 9/2, thought I was getting 7-1.

We like many of the same horses apparently. I boxed 19,21,24 for $1 and key boxed those three with game winner for $2

I still think 9/2 is a fair price for what would typically consist of half dozen or more runners on Derby day. A lot of players use it as Giacomo insurance while plunking down a matching wager on a top pick or two. This worked out well the past couple years in Pool 2 where the field paid 5/2 odds for the eventual winner.

Tax sure wasn't flattered by Our Braintrust's poor run in the Rebel. Gunmetal Gray needs a drop in distance-never thought he would get the derby distance

Your $50 win plays on the field in each division got more bang for your buck. Both probably gonna cover half the field or more.

I really thought Limonite would relish extra distance. I was way off on this one.
