Her place price is still higher than her win price. Usually when I see that, the win ends up paying better by post time.

EDIT: or the next 'flash' of the tote after I post

not using the heavy chalk 8, in race 7, as an 'A', was an 'unforced error'.

Exactly what you try not to do in learning and playing this game.

It's like playing a casual game of tennis. You don't try to paint the line or hit the ball 100mph. Don't hit it into the net or way out of bounds, let the other guy do that.

difference between being alive to the , or not.

Not a HUGE deal, but maybe 10% worse chance of cashing. This was also a ticket where I played everything 1 x 50cents, so a weighted ticket would have magnified the error, additionally.

Review of Thursdays Selections, (after the race)
Key1 Key2 / Possible Selections

r6 K1 K2 with 71349 (10 ran second, beat a neck
r7 K1 K2 with (8 won, 5 ran second)
*r8 K1 K2 with 847 (5 won)
r9 k1 K2 with 487 (5 ran second)

*I noticed my r8 selection came in at:
The $2 superfecta paid $2541.

I didn't bet the super here, but in the future I will...
I know that this thread is primarily for Pick 4 selections, however, can I use a format that is understandable AND that can be adapted for vertical exotics also...?

For example:

r6

71349(14)
71349(14)
71349(14)

r7
A
B (11) (12 (13)
C (11) (12 (13)
D (11) (12 (13)

r8
A
B 847
C 847
D 847

r9
A
B 487
C 487
D 487

Whitmore baby

Is that DRF ticketmaker app free? Cool.

I really like today's races but can't get away from work. Putting more time in tomorrow's card, though it looks really tough.

love Steve Crists book and his ticket structure

yes , it's FREE
http://www.drf.com/store/drf-bets-ticketmaker

If you like the app, obviously support them by at least taking a look at the DRF store and all that they have to offer in terms of DRF+, and formulator, etc...

If you want to post pictures you can do a screen-capture - upload to an image site like tinypic - resize to 'message board' size and - post in [img][/img] tags

Wow! All that talk about picking single winners and here’s a thread for horizonal plays using more than 1 selection per race. I guess the hedging is only frowned upon by those who have clear cut clairvoyance.

Although I only prefer playing Vertical exotics (using more than 1 selection) I throw my 2 cents in for today’s late Pick-4.

R# 8 – 3-4-5-8
R# 9 – 1-2-6-8
R# 10 – 4-10-12-13
R# 11 – 2-4-5-9

4 x 4 x 4 x 4 = 256 combos @ 0.50 = $64 play

Think your math is a little off there, Nick. Shouldn't that be a $128 ticket?

Yes, you're absolutely correct. I was just testing the waters to see if anyone was sharp enough to pick up on that! LOL

You are definitely sharp!
