Cool HONG KONG – HAPPY VALLEY SUN 10/28/18

Good morning to everyone interested in the best racing product on the planet!
I wanted to post some pre-race selections for another very competitive card that looks to offer some decent value.
There will 10 races at Happy Valley ALL on the Turf: (from top to bottom) -
(2)-Class2, (3)-Class3, (4)-Class4 & (1)-Class5

Post Time Race #1 – 12:45 AM SUN EST

Current Hong Kong Weather: https://www.google.com/search?q=Hong...hrome&ie=UTF-8

TVG is offering live video for all these races.
There’s also Live Video on:
http://www.drf.com/drf/live_video/hong_kong/392221
If you can't view the races try listening on the HK Jockey Club radio: (Click on English) http://www.hkjc.com/english/press/live.asp#

For those of who might appreciate the value of the LIVE tote action it’s available here:
(Hit the Back Arrow <-- in the Upper Left and then Click on English)
http://bet.hkjc.com/default.aspx?url...ng=en&dv=local

I’ve already taken a look at the M/L’s in combination with the early odds and used the static tote analysis to come up with the preliminary picks for each race. Later, the Live tote analysis will shed more light on these and any others I might have missed. The latest tote action (by 4 mins to post) may reveal some things that cause substitutions among the Top 3 picks, but they generally look fairly decent for some nice Quinella & Tri scores.

BTW the Top 3 picks have continued to produce some nice Dutch Win returns when the combined odds produce Profit Margins higher ^ than 50%. When I can’t make a Dutch Win bet I’ll generally pay more attention to the Quinellas and perhaps even a Triple play if the combined values add up to decent return.

Good Luck if you’re playing!

Thumbs up

There were obvious adjustments and substitutions due to betting activities in the first 2 races. The board is KEY to Happy Valley.

Also had Quin/Tri box in R#1 and ALL of it in R#2!!!

Looks like its going to be a fun morning!

Vulnerable favourite on the card:
Race 2 Young Dreamer (3-1) Bled in his last race so he is coming off of the Vet’s list. He likes to be near the lead and with the race early in the card and others in here who also show early speed there is a good possibility he may get cooked down the backside.

Horses coming out of key races running today (races where multiple winners have come back next time out and won):
Race *740 (Winners: 1st & 8th, Second: 5th)
Race 7 Acclaimed Light (17-1)

In the event of rain these horses have shown an appreciation for a sloppy going:
Race 3 King Genki (7-2)
Race 6 Diamond Friends (9-1)
Race 6 Good Fit (8-1)

Trainer/Jockey/Horse winning combos running today:
Race 3 King Genki (7-2)
Race 8 Go Public (5-1)

Horses for courses running today:
Race 3 Glorious Artist (7-2)
Race 7 Remarkable (14-1)

Distance specialists running today:
Race 3 King Genki (7-2)
Race 3 Winning Faith (7-1)

Class specialists running today:
None

Last race watch list horses running today:
Race 8 Racing Blitzkrieg (5-1) Went off as the favourite with Purton picking up the ride out of the Size barn, he broke well enough and was placed mid-pack down the backside while the eventual second place finisher was loose on the lead. He was in good position for the stretch run but right at the time Zach was asking him to pick up the pace he was bumped sideways at the 300 metre mark by Poon on Nuclear Power, he recovered quickly and finished well only to be beaten by a neck and was allowed to gallop out which is a rare occurrence with Purton.

Past watch list runners running today:
Race 3 Winning Faith (7-1)
Race 4 Nice Kick (9-1)

Key Play:
Race 8 Racing Blitzkrieg (5-1)

Longshots:
Race 4 Cheer Win (17-1)
Race 7 Hang’s Decision (12-1)

Anyone following the tote action has noticed that the late money (5 mins to post) has produced either the Winner or Placer in the first 4 races and has caused some minor substitutions in my early selections. The Dutching has been sparse so far but the Quinellas & Triples are looking good.

Now #12 is getting good late action in the 5th - #14 is now a toss!

Vulnerable favourite on the card:
Race 3 Lucky Shiny Day (4-1) Closed very well in the stretch but now draws the outside post and comes out of a 5% barn, playing that the stretch run flattens out in the lane tonight.

Horses coming out of key races running tonight (races where multiple winners have come back next time out and won):
Race 088 (Winners: 2nd & 10th, Second: 1st)
Race 5 My Chance (14-1)

Race 6 Har Har Heart (11-1)

Race 099 (Winners: 2nd & 12th, Second: 11th)
Race 8 Fortune Booth (4-1)

In the event of rain these horses have shown an appreciation for soft footing. (Good to Yielding or Yielding):

Trainer/Jockey/Horse winning combos running tonight:

Race 3 Gold Land (7-1)
Race 4 Have Fun Together (9-2)

Race 7 Blitzing (7-5)

Horses for courses running tonight:
Race 8 Super Hoppy (7-2)

Distance specialists running tonight:
Race 8 Super Hoppy (7-2)

Class specialists running tonight:
None

Last race watch list horses running tonight:
Race 1 Sports Master (14-1) Commenced awkwardly and slow away before making up ground to position at rear on the inside. Turned into straight well back before improving through the field to just miss by a short head. 1000 metres may be a little short for him and Purton choose the high weight entry here.

Race 1 Whistle Up (7-1) Slightly slow out and crowded, raced midfield, 2 to 3 away from the stand’s rail, made some progress final 400M to take a place.

Race 5 Beauty Loyal (6-1) Fractious and missed start badly, at the rear throughout before making ground in the straight.

Race 8 Super Hoppy (7-2) Began fairly, showed no early speed, raced 3 wide at rear early, checked near 1000M, 8-9Ls back at tail thereafter, still well back on turn, taken very wide in straight and finished off very strongly to be nearest on line.

Past watch list runners running tonight:
None

Key Plays:
Race 5 Beauty Loyal (6-1)
Race 7 Perfect Glory (7-2)
Race 8 Super Hoppy (7-2)

Longshots:
Race 1 Sports Master (14-1)

What a big day (evening) at Happy Valley with some really nice Dutch Win scores in races #1, #4, #5, #6 and capped off with a beauty in the 8th!
The late tote analysis only confirmed many of the early selections.

Code:

#8	#2	#1
LOW	MID	HI	TOT	TOT	PRF %
1.9	6.6	8.4	BET	PRF
$6	$15	$19
$380	$145	$117	$642	$460	72%
$1,102	$1,102	$1,100
The Quinella in the 8th returned $275.10 and the Triple Box returned $5,015.00
It's just unfortunate that we can't play their Quartets (Supers)

Vulnerable favourites on the card:
Race 3 Royal Mojito (3-1) Even though he ran a decent 4th beaten two lengths after encountering trouble and is moving from the 12 post to the rail, I will play all day long against a record of 0-21 in Hong Kong and a trainer that is 1-38 going 1200 metres on the dirt.

Race 6 Bring It On (4-1) Another one with a poor lifetime record (1 for 29 in HKJC) and has had plenty of tries at the class level, he plods along and will make a slight run late but always after the race as been already decided.

Horses coming out of key races running today (races where multiple winners have come back next time out and won):
Race 088 (Winners: 2nd & 10th, Second: 1st)
Race 4 Gameplayer Emperor (16-1)
Race 4 Victory Machine (9-2)

Race *751 (Winners: 5th, 8th & 9th)
Race 8 Conte (11-1)

Race 035 (Winners: 5th & 7th, Second: 3rd, 4th & 6th)
Race 9 Speedy King (9-1)

In the event of rain these horses have shown an appreciation for soft footing. (Good to Yielding or Yielding):
Race 3 Golden Effort (11-1)
Race 8 Calculation (19-1)
Race 8 Morethanlucky (15-1)

Last race watch list horses running today:
Race 1 Penzance (7-2) Commenced fairly before ridden up to position in behind leaders but was forced to take up soon afterwards. Travelled well throughout middle stages before being asked to quicken from 400m to keep in touch with leading pair but left slightly flat-footed.

Race 2 Gracious Ryder (9-1) Began fairly, positioned 3 to 4 lengths back on rail, steadied off heels near 600M, checked near 400M, no clear running in straight and was not able to test properly late.

Race 6 You Have My Word (9-2) Settled last in early stages before commencing sweeping run around the field from 800m. Were three and four horses wide in middle stages before joining leaders at 350m, ran around in straight but was very brave considering.

Race 8 Simply Brilliant (9-1) Commenced well, sat a length behind the leader on rail, easy run on turn, no clear running early in straight, angled out after passing 300M, finished off well thereafter to take a place.

Race 8 Conte (11-1) Taken forward early to be handily placed 4th/5th, but 3 wide. No cover from 900m. Stayed on solidly, but lacked turn of foot and went to the line 1 paced.

Race 10 Marzouq (4-1) Began well from gate 12, unable to slot in, raced 4 wide at rear, no cover throughout, moved closer on the turn, made very good progress in straight to take 3rd.

Race 10 The Judge (18-1) Began fairly, raced 2 wide, 5 lengths back, severely checked near 900M, similar position on turn, no clear running after turning in, made minor progress when clear final 100M.

Past watch list runners running today:
Race 6 Good Days (9-2)

Key Play:
Race 6 You Have My Word (9-2)

Longshots:
Race 5 Super Fun (21-1)
Race 7 Everest (21-1)

HONG KONG - SHA TIN SAT- 11/10/18

Good morning to everyone interested in the best racing product on the planet!
I’m posting my pre-race selections for another very competitive card with a few wide open races that look to offer some decent value.
There are 10 races at Sha Tin with 8 on Turf & 2 on Dirt: [B] (from top Class to bottom) -
(1)-Class-1, (4)-Class-3, (4)-Class-4, (1)-Class-5

Post Time Race #1 – 12:00 AM SAT EST

Current Hong Kong Weather: https://www.google.com/search?q=Hong...hrome&ie=UTF-8

TVG is offering live video for the all 10 races.

I’ve taken a look at the M/L’s in combination with the early odds and used a unique static tote analysis to come up with the preliminary picks for each race. Later, the Live tote analysis will certainly shed more light on these and any others I might have missed. The latest tote action (by 4 mins to post) may reveal some things that cause final substitutions among the Top 3 picks, but overall they generally look fairly decent for some nice Quinella & Tri scores.
