Happy Mother’s Day to all you Moms out there.
Feliz Dia de la Madre
I may not be able to do this all afternoon as we’re going out to a restaurant.
Race One:
I like the “outside three” in this 7-panels, 10k claimer. I’m leaning toward either the
Orpheus or
T Loves a Fight. Orpheus is dropping two levels for trainer Carlos Martin. This Forestry (Storm Cat)-bred should love the sloppy going (most of his races have come on the turf). He does well at this distance.
#5 T Loves a Fight is another wet-track “specialist”. This bay gelding’s trainer, Brad Cox, does very well when entering horses, 2nd after a claim. Kendrick Carmouche, “The Louisiana Kid,” reprises the ride,
If you’re thinking of exotics, I’d include
Regalian. This Tom Morley-trainee should benefit from both his outside post and the wet Belmont surface. Junior Alvarado in the irons enhances this colt’s chances.
After that
Maimo. This gelding has been installed as the 5/2 M/L second-choice. Apprentice Ben Hernandez is the irons for trainer Gary Gullo. He has faced better in recent tries.
If I see anything that catches my eye in the paddock, I'll chime back in.
