Can we be done with it and just get the pre-construction prices for the Condominiums please?

There was some thought the track was getting faster to this point and then the rain came again.
They missed the morning Chorus
It never rains in Southern California.
Santa Anita is scheduled to host the Breeders’ Cup Nov. 1-2. It’s considered the biggest two-day event in U.S. horse racing.

The BC should go ahead and move it to Churchill. The situation is very precarious here and there's zero guarantee SA will have everything fixed.

In a statement that reads more like a commercial for Lasix, the Scientific Advisory Group of the Association of Racing Commissioners has said that there is no published study that shows that Lasix is responsible for breakdowns in horses. Perhaps it would be good if they funded such studies.
Funny how there were no such studies either way when the racing commissions approved the use of this powerful medication in the first place.

It's on the ESPN crawl again this morning, 3rd death at Santa Anita in 9 days, 26th death overall. I know some will say this is unfair, some will say it's justified. Regardless, the casual sports fan watching Sportscenter this morning is getting this information about horse racing and not, say, who won yesterday's feature race. If that's all they get for days and weeks on end...

Every headline inches this closer to a public referendum in California and provides the racino operators across the country a rationale to decouple racing from casino operations

The sooner that decoupling happens the better off racing will be.
Was stupid to hitch to that post to begin with.

Every 15 minutes that is what you hear on the radio. "Another DEATH at Santa Anita". I see friends and that's the first thing out, "What's happening at Santa Anita." I guess to the casual fan they might not ever see a horse go down, but I have news for them It does happen.

Its funny, there was like 18 horses go down at Del Mar in 38 race days a decade ago, and while the industry was concerned and made some changes, you never heard from the mainstream. Today the mainstream media goes where they are directed buy the SJW.

That meeting brought PETA protesters out to California tracks, where they have remained ever since. It set the stage for this.

PETA is a joke, they protest all pets and animals in captivity of any kind, using them as any kind of measuring stick is foolish.

I don't think PETA's ability to collect signatures and get horse racing to a referendum in California is a joke
