I know really, every time I hear it I just see Shoe and Dick Enberg in that piece after Ferdinand won the Derby. Classic piece of horse racing coverage but the tune is now seared into my brain for all of eternity.

He's a contender.

Not a huge price, but works on vertical exotics if one of multiple keys on same ticket.

I hope he stays in the US and runs in some of our other big races.

If I were his connections I'd be screaming, "We was robbed!!!" lol. He very well might have been the best horse yesterday.

Ha. Rubbing is racing in the Derby to an extent.

That was a pretty rough race from the very start, and almost every horse in the field faced some trouble, contact, or adversity. Even Mystik Dan with a great trip on the rail had to squeeze past Track Phantom at the top of the stretch.

Even while losing in tough fashion, I can enjoy the greatness of this race that required a photo for Win/Place/Show. That was an amazing race.

Longshot wins the Derby running the minimum distance. Yeah, I've seen this film a number of times. You run a 20 horse field around tight turns and you're begging for this. The Preakness and Belmont Stakes will sort this out.

Mystic Dan with B. Hernandez. I had him underneath on each of my exotics so admittedly, I failed to cash. But, damn, I have to give it to him when I watch that replay. Staying inside all the way around on the rail essentially unimpeded through his trip and to make that critical move to go to the rail on a tiring and backing up Track Phantom. Damn!! It was the winning move! Have to give both he and the horse/connections major Props for the end result yesterday. WOW!! It is on to working the next puzzle. Time to "Get your Preak on"!!

He had one of the biggest entries in the chart to describe the nightmare trip he overcame to miss place by a nose to a horse that may have deserved disqualification. I might follow the international circuit just to watch him again if that's the route he takes. Very impressive.

I don't know if Forever Youngs connections intend on sending him to the Preakness in a couple of weeks. If he is super sound they should strongly consider sending him. Sierra Leone is not going and neither is Mystic Dan evidently. He would have a very strong chance to get it done in the Preakness. Has a Japanese horse ever won the Preakness??
