Warning Non Racer's

Latest betting Angle.

Most likely at a Slot track (5/8 and 1/2 miler) with good purse's.

Factors
1.Shows no form on program, 5th is best place last 6 lines.
2.Draws inside post 1~4
3.Jumps on the gait, fights for 1st Quarter position and ducts to the rail, has no intention of racing or contenting, just sucks behind the leader and finishes 2nd or 3rd.
4.Takes the purse money grabs his place and show bet money goes home happy.

Example: 6/15/2019 Scioto Downs Race 2 Purse $20000
ROCK OUT #4 Hole
Last 2 races finished 6th in non winners of 6000, Purse $11,000
Saturday Night jumps to 30,000 to 40,000 claimers. ($20000)
Indiana Cam jumps to the lead, one of the top horse's on the grounds, K Ater with Rock Out jumps to the wood behind IC.
One mile later IC sucks along to finish 2nd 3 lengths behind IC.
Go home happy $5000 purse money, Place and show bets for 14-1. This happen at least 3 more times with horse's that never raced and never made an effort to advance.

This is interesting but I'm still a little fuzzy on it . Let me know if you see any other examples to clear it up.

I would like to see some examples with the horse's performance lines BEFORE the race.

What the driver did in the example race was not illegal, he's just trying to make a living, but I can say for sure his group or family didn't bet that horse to win.

My Point
1. Rock Out had never raced for $20,000 in its career.
2. 5 years ago the Top Purse at SD 5/8 on Saturday night would have been $10,000 for the feature. Rock Out would have been racing for a purse of $2000, it's now a huge difference because of slot money.
3.Strategy, I've got the 2 hole tonight with no chance to win, grab the wood when the gait opens, let everyone go 2 and 3 wide on the turns suck up nice behind the leader and let the horse's who raced die in the lane, grab the check collect the bets go home happy.

If you have time check Scioto Downs this coming Saturday race 6
almost same horse's, lets see what happens.

Postitme,
Luv your angle, which I used in the 70s, 80s and 90s.
Unfortunately for this horse and horseman your research is weak.
Rock Out had a eight month layoff from Mar-April of 2018 to Jan 2019.
I've a race line excerpt from May 5, 2018 (no clue how to post here) and MVG and the horse was racing in Open company.

The angle you describe is Kyle Ater's style of driving. Personally having lost many bets of Ater, I wouldn't bet a dime of yours or anybody elses money on Mr. Ater. Frequently Shawn Barker driver Ater horses and drives in the near exact style.
Neither Ater of Baker seem to have the ability to react and get their horse in momentum before the flow develops, and explains why they get stuck tucked in more often than they win.

Ray posted a thread some while back on Kyle Ater and he and I discussed this privately.

Mr.W
I agree with what you say, I know the Aters well I used to live 10 minutes from there farm, my son dated one of the daughters.
Kyle is a B driver at best, I just think the big Purse's at the Slot tracks has changed the trip method so much it's hard to carry all the numbers in a Trifecta bet.
Lets see how Rock Out does this Saturday from 2 hole against some real good horse's. (Race 6 Scioto)
