Great band. Would have been even better if Henley sang all the songs.

I like the Eagles but I don't know why the youtube video says "The Eagles". They are not The Eagles and The Eagles did not originate the song.

I feel the same way The Dude does about The Eagles.

Not ruining it, just answering the question. Just never got it about the band, the weird thing is I like most of Henley's solo stuff. I am sure there a lot of music that I like that you would NEVER listen to. Also, not one of those cult followers of The Big Lebowski just always remembered that part of the movie because I can associate with it.

The Eagles were one of those bands I enjoyed growing up, but now they don't do it for me. They seem overly polished and marketed, especially on The Long Run, and smarmy in a California kind of way. I'd rather hear Joe Walsh's solo or James Gang stuff anytime.

You were the clowns that brought about disco.
Thank the heavens for Van Halen.

I vote Good. They do have the #1 best-selling record in the US. I don't think that they were innovative, but they have a lot of good songs. They did manage to create a sound that bordered on country but mostly stayed on the rock side of music.

Great, especially with Joe Walsh. Can't prove this but my memory tells me they were the first band to really charge a lot for a concert. So I've always held that against them. Us old farts here were really lucky to see the shows we saw at a very reasonable price.

Agree that prices years ago to see concerts was very reasonable compared to now. Only saw the Eagles once in 1980 at Yale Bowl in New Haven with Heart and Little River Band. I don’t recall the ticket price but it wasn’t unreasonable at all. So they weren’t over charging in 1980.

I think it was the "Hell Freezes Over" reunion tour that charged the high prices that got people a little P.O.éd.But the fans paid, so that's how the system works.
