Replay Reviews

Is it just me, or has anyone else noticed that most final rulings on close plays come INSTANTANEOUSLY after TV commentators have stated definitive opinion, or their networks have shown a conclusive angle????

Any theories on this?? I have a few. And I'm extremely suspicious of this frequent coincidence.

I just notice the times they use a play being reviewed as a way to run more commercials instead of showing all the angles. I don't remember what station did it but I was watching a game this season where they didn't show any replays and went to commercial and when they came back the outcome was already decided.

If you are referring to the 2 blown calls from the review booth on the Jets touchdowns this year, then yes they come back right after the analysts have their say.

I think the officials are somehow hooked into the tv feed and figure a decision that concurs with the commentators is unlikely to spark controversy.

The Nfl and the networks are so incestuously intertwined that I'm suspicious of every way they might interact.

Or it could be that the officials, replay and on-the-field, have to get the clock and the spot right, whereas the announcers don't.
