The Stronach 5, which grew to more than $1 million Friday afternoon, was hit by 83 bettors who each received $10,945.40.

The national pick 5, with an industry-low 12-percent takeout, kicked off at Laurel where Dat Dares Gold, who went off at 9-1, ran down favored My Chesa Charm to return $20. The 7-5 favorite Mo's Ride ($4.80) won the third leg at Gulfstream Park before Spy Ring closed out the sequence at Santa Anita returning $9.60.
Where do you usually get the results? I'm still wondering how ubiquitous this may be for various OTBs or tote machines.

If you didn't have a strong stance on Leg One and spread, that was very, very doable. And for $10k, a very nice hit.

I'll be paying attention for subsequent oppportunities, especially on carryovers. Is the play always on Friday?

If the first leg has unraced maidens running, we can see which unraced maiden or maidens is taking action at the windows. No such luxury occurs in any other leg.

Does any outlet show the will-pays into the final leg if you're lucky enough to be alive? Was scrambling between several ADW's & track feeds & could not find one to supply this information. Maybe it'd be nicer if the conclusion of the 4th leg didn't happen right on top of the 5th race.

I thought you guys might find this interesting. Over the last 19 results dating back to late September 2018, the standard deviation is $22,105.

Here are the confidence intervals

68.3%, SEx̄ 9875.9014136886 - 20018.624902101
90%, 1.645SEx̄ 6604.8730886757 - 23289.653227114
95%, 1.960SEx̄ 5007.3941392508 - 24887.132176539
99%, 2.576SEx̄ 1883.4353048198 - 28011.09101097

I don't think the mean means much, but if you are interested, the mean payout for the last 19 paydays was $14,947. The lowest payout was $565, highest was $88,286. If I am reading the Laurel site correctly, that high payout was not after a carryover. The payouts after the 3 carryover in this time period were:

$17,832
$4,777
$9,679
