Key Races & Bets Blog, Podcast, other Blog for March 24 & 25

This week's Key Races & Bets blog & podcast, as always free at Amwager, covers a couple of races & a pick three ending with my pick to upset (10/1 morning line) in the San Luis Rey Stakes at Santa Anita Saturday and ALSO includes a similar sequence for Sunday at Sunland Park ending with the Sunland Derby where my top choice is 8/1 on the morning line.

There are two blogs at Keeneland Select, one for the Fair Grounds Oaks (Race 10) on Saturday and the other for the Louisiana Derby, with doubles connecting the two.

Good Luck,
Ellis

Thanks. Chocolate Martini ran very nicely. It's too bad I wasn't as clued into the Amoss runner (Lone Sailor) in the Derby.

Regarding Kent (My Boy Jack), in my opinion either the horse lost touch because the pace was so hot or that was the plan. Keith Desormeaux is very good at setting a horse up for a race and although it seem like a plan to get an education in a grade 1 race to set My Boy Jack up for another grade 1 race sounds odds, it's been done before such as when Texas Red ran third in the Front Runner before winning the BC Juvenile.

Nevertheless, the turn of foot shown by My Boy Jack (and similarly by Runaway Ghost) is the kind that wins the Kentucky Derby if it is done at the right time.
