where I end up when my laptop is lagging and I see a great last-second bet at Saratoga...

races 1-5 today

$0.50 Pick-4 (1,2,4,5,7,9,10,12,13/2/1/9) Paid $196.75 (4OF4)

$2 Pick-3 (2/1/9) Paid $685.00 (3OF3) ($171.25 on a 50c scale)

$0.50 Pick-5 (4/1,2,4,5,7,9,10,12,13/2/1/9) Paid $1,255.75 (5OF5)

So, even with an obvious single in the 2nd race, if you used all 5 runners in the 7f dirt taken off the turf-route for 2yo filly maidens 5th RACE, and otherwise bet logicals, you got paid if you played the pick-5. Not so much for the pick-4 or the pick-3.

These garbage cards are still sometimes interesting/playable if you are one of the important customers.

If you are a very sharp DD and Pk-3 player, you are kind of in nowhere land when it comes to the garbage cards that were either affected by weather or have races intentionally carded with 6 or 5 horses.

= Either get a 2nd job and play pick-5s like the real customers, or wait until actual competitive full fields come to you a few times a year (rare major stakes days and BC) and play those pick-3s, OR cut-back the other direction and just play Win wagers on the one race out of 5 that features a mispriced horse.

Wow ! This is the first year I can remember so many complaints , and rightfully so, about Saratoga racing. Shows how far down thoroughbred racing has sunken. In the words of our President..."Sad. "

I have seen enough.

Adios Toga.

First two days were the highlights of the meet! Now one just has to wait for Keenland fall and KD, BC and in Jan Gulfstream.

Good new york racing is heavily dependent on turf race, when you have weather like this there is nothing to fall back on.

Could have sworn I saw some 12 horse fields at Gulfstream today?

Are they staying down south nowadays?

Gulfstream Park is the best betting track in the country. Full
consistent fields and value prices every race. A nice mixture of long shots, mid level prices and favorites EVERY card.

I have been boycotting GP since the national boycott, ummm 10 years ago?
So long, I forget.

Really hard to support such a miserable excuse of a tack and its owner.

Full filed and MASSIVE coverage on TVG......but things have got to get a lot worse before I'll ever support that outfit.

That's my point - gop back to 5 days.
They can't fill races for 6.

Nothing special about Toga anymore.

Nothing special about Saratoga? Oh i highly disagree. I get the point about smaller fields but there is nothing like being at Saratoga.
