As prevelant as cancer is I can’t see how anybody could point to one thing causing it.

I know dozens of people that handle roundup all the time and have perfect health. I'm not saying it isn't potentially bad but if it truly caused cancer every damn farmer in ND would have it. And in most states I'm sure.

Years ago I ran a large expansion project of a Monsanto facility. Everyday they had protesters on the street. The place was locked down like Fort Knox. This was one of their GMO facility's. Security everywhere and everyone had to be badged. Employees were badged and only had certain access to areas. They had what they called the seed vault, it was secured 24/7. They are doing some very controlling things with seeds.

Unless it was a non smoking coal miner with black lungs I agree. On the other hand if you read the article the man says he was often soaked with Roundup. He obviously had very high levels of exposure. What I would like to know is why he kept getting drenched in it and why was he not wearing protective clothing?

yea that’s interesting. No reason to be soaked in it. I spray it quite frequently. I’ve never experienced that.

Absolutely! This doesn't pass the BE (bull excrement) sniff test. Who in his or her right mind would be so careless and reckless with a liquid that they don't drink, yet drench themselves in!? Seriously? Drench themselves in chemicals?

I work with this stuff on my property and I'm so careful with it, that I will not spray on a windy day. I don't want the chemicals to get on me or on anything else that I don't want sprayed.

Here is the very first precautionary statement on the container I have:

People and pets must not touch treated plants or enter into treated areas until the spray has dried.

And of course there are warnings about getting these chemicals into your eyes. If the chemicals aren't good for the eyes, then wouldn't common sense dictate that they're probably not too great for the skin either?

Sounds like he took care of a pretty large piece of property...probably was dealing with tons of this stuff, and wasn't going around with a spray bottle...

Who knows what happened...it was good enough for the jury though, and I guess that's what counts in the end.

"Who knows what happened"? I wonder if the Kalifornia jury did in order to make rational decision? Whether he dealt with 1 gal bottles or 200 gallons in a tank sitting on a truck, it seems to me he handled those harsh chemicals very carelessly. And I'm sure those chemicals still come with warnings.

I also contract with a professional lawn care to take care of the big stuff on my property. (I just do the spot-weeding.) I have watched him work. He's very careful. Something stinks here -- and it ain't the chemicals.

I know farmers that spray ten to twenty thousand acres a year with it. Sometimes twice a year. 1000-1500 gallon tanks on those sprayers. Not a one has grown a second penis that I’m aware of

People are rewarded for THEIR OWN stupidity...

ever since Tobacco lost...ie...this causes cancer....well I smoked anyways and got cancer....pay me

or I spilled HOT coffee in my lap...pay me...

or...I twisted my ankle whilst on Loratab...and was in an accident previously and a car wreck a month later...still I want $350k from you....plus hubby wanted to paid for her failure to preform WIFELY duties

Yeah that last one was at my place of business....after new lawyers and 6 years...and depositions....my insurance paid her $25k and hubby got $100 dollars...

You can get $15k automatically basically if you sue...Insurance companies figure it's cheaper....above that....they'll normally fight tooth and nail...

Welcome to the new world America...
