You say that like it's a bad thing. He is bi-partisan, not subject to rigid principles or policies, free to advocate whatever is going through his mind at the moment.

It would. The problem is that in doing so it would solidify democratic control. Careful what you wish for.

Briefly. Then without a scapegoat to blame for everything that they **** up we'd just get something new and hopefully a whole lot better as an alternative. Hell, maybe we'd really get lucky and get a choice to choose from.

Billionaire Carl Icahn creates huge pro-American Super-PAC which will target
political policy aimed to stop US corporate business inversions (companies leaving U.S. for tax breaks etc.)
Taking it to Wall Street for a change. Main Street America HAS to love this.

Hillary would crush him in debates. Love her or hate her (I strongly, strongly dislike her), she's a great debater. Won every debate in 2008 against Obama except the one in Philly (poor prep work on the NY drivers' license issue).

None of this matters, he'll hire the right person to debate Hillary. Too bad, he won't be the candidate.
There are very strong polling indications out now that he will indeed win the nomination. People who thought it was crazy a couple months ago (like you and me) are now having to accept the fact that it's likely going to happen.

He has the support. And it looks like there is simply no one else who can step up to the GOP plate.

Mike, I have mentioned this and posted about this months ago, but in my opinion, if there is any threat of a third party candidate soiling the 2016 election it will probably come out of the Republican Party but it won't be Donald Trump if he loses the nomination.

I have often said that the GOP has a history of running 3rd party candidates against the legit winner of the GOP nomination when it wasn't the acceptable candidate of the GOP establishment.

You can bet that once the first 3-4 primaries are run early next year and Trump wins them all very easily, mumblings about Mitt Romney running 3rd Party will loom. He may even jump in the fray before that if Jeb Bush continues to gets rejected and crushed by the 'sheep'.

If not Mittens, then maybe some sissy like Jon Huntsman or some uber phony like Mike Bloomberg will do the 3rd Party honors. You could go to the bank that one of these high-profile clowns will try to stick a shiv in Trump's back.

All this won't matter because none of these three jerks will stop the Make America Great tsunami, I assure you.

Also remember that these other clowns didn't have to sign a no 3rd Party run pledge as Trump did so doing America wrong won't bother any of them one iota.

There's an interesting break down of the poll data at the National Journal. It shows that the GOP voters in primaries are split about 50-50 between blue collar (those without college degrees) and white collar (those with degrees). The blue collar faction of the party is strongly supportive of Trump, while the white collar faction is highly fragmented among the other candidates.

Best news I've heard all day. All those who thought this was a joke or that there was no way he could win the nomination can now kiss off.

I don't think it's over yet, but my streak of never being right about who will get the nomination seems likely to continue. I think I was offering 9 billion to 1 against him not so long ago.

Trump has gained in the betting markets. The betting markets are the best indicator. Talk is cheap. Money talks.

Rubio is now the favorite at 5/2. For the first time, Bush has relinquished the lead and fallen to second choice at 7/2. Trump has made huge strides and is now 11/2 down from over 30-1.

I still think Bush wins the nomination and 7/2 is a good price if you can get it. At 5/2 I'd go short and lay odds against Rubio

Trump is hard to figure, but his odds will probably go lower before they go higher, but I'm still not convinced he will win because I'm not sure the republican establishment will back him.

Trump winning the nomination would be a gift for democrats and a nightmare for republicans. if you're a republican wanting to win the White House how is this good news?

Unless it isn't. It would be worse for the republicans Trump ran as an independent. If he wins the nomination he might just beat the democratic candidate. He has had a good run so far and I don't see signs of it stopping.

The one thing I see is Jeb making a big push as the primaries get closer.
