Saratoga this weekend Should I go?

I'm on business in Albany, and have little to do over the weekend.

I have always heard that Saratoga is a real gem, and every fan should attend if possible.

What do you think? Worth checking out?

Any advice, tips, things to do and things to avoid?

If you are a horse racing fan I don't see how this could even be a question.

When in Rome do as the Romans do...
When in Saratoga do as the.....

Between the racing and eateries and shopping you cant go wrong, and Albany is a stones throw away!

Go or you will be regretting it every year you read about it.....for the rest of your days

One tip. Go really early, find a place to have breakfast and get in really early.

R U Nuts??????? You are 30 minutes away! Listen to Just Ralph! He nailed it. You will never regret it. Like he said, you will if you don't go. Just do what he said on a Saturday.

I don't know where the OP is from but if far away and you are a race fan-do it. On the negative side, it will be Hot, Humid, and Crowded. I would not want to go this weekend. The air conditioned Albany Teletheatre or Saratoga Harness would be better.

Yeah, I'm a huge blues fan and still kick myself more than a decade after I skipped seeing John Lee Hooker live.... he died 6 weeks later at age 92.... What the hell was a thinking? At 92 did I really have much of a chance at seeing him live next time he came around.

I pulled the PP's. for Saturday' 11 race card... will check the Turf conditions in the AM.... if OFF I'll try Sunday.

Been up here all week. It's a magical place. The racing is almost secondary. Make sure you purchase seats ahead of time because on the weekend the paddock can be crowded. Unless you want to show up at 7-8am and stake a spot/picnic table.

Great racing this Saturday with The Fourstardave, Saratoga is a magical place, if you get the chance to go, don't hesitate.

Seriously. To be "stuck" on business in Albany all weekend in August has been a dream of mine for 25 years, my entire professional life. Take advantage of it- both days regardless of weather- you cannot possibly go wrong.
