Much like the media you also stepped "on a rake" carrying this story.
As did many of the Democrat Presidential candidates calling for immediate impeachment.
Take note all the happened BEFORE the President's phone call to
Ukraine President thus the so called "whistleblower" had no knowledge of the background subject.
Ex-President Petro Poroshenko and now President Volodymyr Zelensky, had been trying to deliver information about Obama officials and Democrat party officials (DNC on behalf of Hillary Clinton) requesting the government of Ukraine interfere in the 2016 election.
Both administrations had tried, unsuccessfully, to get the information to current US officials.
Failing to get help from the US State department, the Ukrainians tried a work around, and hired a private American lawyer to hand deliver the information to the US DOJ in NY.
After hearing nothing in return and fearing a serious diplomatic breakdown, The Zelensky administration made a personal request to the US State department for assistance.
The US State department then reached out to Trump's lawyer Rudy Giuliani and asked if he would meet with Zelenski's lawyer
Andrea Yermak.
Much like the Iranian situation 'Trumps got this".
The rake standers, not so much.

The only way to get this story covered by the Fake News was to wrap in in a "Trump Scandal Headline" and then they eagerly swallowed the bait.
