There's no feasible alternative to the US dollar. Maybe that will change in the future, but there's no alternative now.
The Yuan, contrary to Trump's claim,* is overvalued, not undervalued. How can I say this? Their banking system is a disaster, and they have capital controls in place. If your currency is underappreciated, you don't need capital controls. Period.
What about the Euro? It faced extinction just 8 years ago. Does anyone really want to park massive amounts of reserves in the EU banking system? How about the Pound Sterling? I think the issues with that currency are readily apparent. The Swiss Franc? Their banking system is 5x to 6x GDP, a radically higher ratio than the US. There are interesting niche currency, but they don't possess the requisite liquidity to serve as an alternative to the US dollar.
*I do agree with Trump that the Chinese steal US IP, unfairly subsidize certain exports and maintain unfair trade barriers to many US goods.

France, Great Britain, and Germany now agreeing with Trump - Iran is responsible. They are calling for Iran to go bacak to the rtrem of the deal, France even suggesting a new deal might be in order.
Diplomacy - it takes time.
This appears to be a very successful move by Trump.

In case you haven't noticed... Iran doesn't care.
This doesn't change their calculus in any way whatsoever.

In case you haven't notice China is an ally of Iran. China just agreed to a $400. billion deal with Iran. Do you think China would back Iran militarily if the U.S. attacked Iran, due to an attack Saudi Arabia?
Do you want the U.S. to start a conflict, that would escalate quickly due to China's entering the fray, with military action?

I'm not the one saying this is working when it isn't.
Iran doesn't give a shit about what the Euros think at this point. They remained compliant with the deal for over a year waiting for them to honor it in spite of US pressure.
If anything this makes Iran more belligerent not less...
They will seek to leverage bad behavior for more favorable terms. There is a dove in the White House so they aren't concerned with a major military response.
