5-7-1-10 Dutch Loss 132% Profit Margin / $32.90 Quinella & $538.00 Triple Box
It turned out to be a half way decent opening day card. The limited number of playable Dutch Win bets produced a O.A. profit of 21% hitting 2 of only 4 playable races. There were quite a few Verticals hit with some fair value including 7 Quinellas & 3 Triples.

Hong Kong Racing Recap
Date: September 1, 2019
Track: Sha Tin
Bias: None
Horses to watch for list:
Race 7 Mr Croissant (74) After racing a very nice second after travelling wide in his last back in June. Today he picked up the services of last year's leading rider Zac Purton and received a much better draw in a much smaller field and was bet down as the 4-5 favourite. Raced mid-field two wide in the turn while the pace setters set a fast pace in the turn, at the top of the stretch he moved out to the four path and moved to the front at the 150 metre mark but couldn't hold off the late challenge by the Sha Tin specialist Golden Sixty. Beat the third place runner New Asia Sunrise by a length and a quarter, he should improve off that effort after the extended rest.
Race 8 Fast Most Furious (96) Was all out in his last to get up after breaking from the 13 post going 7 furlongs all the while getting the aid of a closing track that day. Was a little washed up heading into the gate here, he settled in mid-pack two wide on the backside, moved out to the five path entering the stretch and dug down trying to catch the light weight winner Gold Chest who had a perfect trip in the early going. He picked up 2 handicapping points which will allow him one more run at Class 2.
Race 9 Gentle Breeze (62) He won his previous race by 2 at his preferred track downtown in Class 4, and was making the mandatory jump up into Class 3 where he hadn't shown much previously. At the break he was caught a little off guard and was slammed by Beauty Charisma after he took a right turn immediately out of the gate costing Gentle Breeze at least 2 lengths to the field. He raced in the rear of the field and was never going to be able to make up the ground he lost at the start but with 200 metres to go he switched to his proper lead and Chadwick asked him for a run and he took off, making up 4 lengths on the leaders and galloped out strongly passed the wire. Hopefully he'll be back at Happy Valley for his next out.
Race 10 Regency Bo Bo (79) Found Class 2 and the dirt not to his liking just before the summer break, now back to Class 3 where he's found it a little more comfortable. He drew the 10 post in a field of 14, at the break he was caught with his head slightly up when the hood was removed then came out into Party Together costing him a couple lengths to the field forcing him to race a lot further back than where he prefers to be. After he was unable to find any room near the rail Mo was forced to head into the turn three wide without any cover, in the turn he made a very nice move picking up 5 lengths on the leaders in a pace that was just slightly faster than par. In the six path now he entered the stretch and continued his run but after the break and losing so much ground in the turn he was never going to catch Cordyceps who had a perfect trip on the rail sitting just behind the front runner Beauty Day who eventually finished fourth. Regency Bo Bo's handicap was held at 79 after the effort which will keep him at the level and high weight for at least one more trip.
Horses to avoid next time out:
Race 8 Gold Chest (87) Had a perfect trip after breaking from the 3 post and had to hold off Fast Most Furious while getting a 12 pound advantage.

Jocks are not allowed to have an agent unless they are unable speak either Chinese or English. They have to get their own mounts by either being retained by a trainer which you have to ride for that outfit (Moreira last year for John Size), a freelance rider which are local Hong Kong riders or club riders.

HONG KONG - SHA TIN Sun - 9/8/19
Good morning to everyone interested in the best racing product on the planet!
Im posting my pre-race selections for another very competitive card that looks to offer some decent value.
10 races at Sha Tin with 6 to be run on Turf & 4 on the Dirt:
(Class top to bottom) - (1)-Class-2, (3)-Class-3, (4)-Class-4, (2)-Class-5
Post Time Race #1 12:45 AM SUN EST
Ive taken a look at the M/Ls in combination with the early odds and used a unique static tote analysis to come up with the preliminary picks for each race. Later, the Live tote analysis will certainly shed more light on these and any others I might have missed.
The latest tote action (by 4 mins. to post) may reveal some things that cause final substitutions among the Top 3 picks from the Bottom 3 picks. However, the overall picks generally look fairly decent for some nice Quinella & Tri scores.
Quite a few of the races this morning look wide open!
BTW the Top 3 picks have continued to produce some nice Dutch Win returns when the combined odds produce Profit Margins higher ^ than 50%. When I cant make a Dutch Win bet Ill generally pay more attention to the Quinellas and perhaps even a Triple play if the combined values add up to decent return.
Good Luck if youre playing!
