Rational explanation

Is there a rational explanation as to why many horses claimed from certain trainers automatically show a decline of 10 o more BSF?
Below there just one example but there are many, you very well know the names for Diodoro's sake.

I’m not defending Broberg here specifically but it looks like a typical cheap claiming horse form cycle. Horse might like Retama surface/track setup better than Remington. Brought to Remington in the race he was claimed out of against open claiming company at $7500, responded to drop down against restricted $5k company, got ass kicked in 5000s allowance company after that.

Ask yourself, is Broberg really “juicing” or otherwise using expensive performance enhancing drugs on cheap claimers? Or is he just placing his horses in spots where they will be competitive and dropping them for claims when he knows they are at the end of their form cycle/or not running to expectations.

Now if you wanna talk about trainers picking up under performing $50k claimers and winning stakes with them that’s another conversation altogether.

I would argue that it does not matter. As long as one is aware of this and can turn the knowledge into wagering value.

I wouldnt consider those 2 races after the claim as bad races....

making significant moves in higher class races says that the
horse is in good form and needs a drop...

I'd watch & bet this horse in next race...

So , be careful just looking at the Beyer Fig....
