I'm not blaming anybody...
Its not a good spot to be in and could have been pretty easily avoided.
Its not like there is some massive shortage of conservative jurists out there and its always been Kavanaugh or bust.
Politically its been poorly played.

Sure seems to be doesn't it...?
Probably could've just pulled Kavanaugh and rolled out Barrett. A woman, a conservative, easy for Collins to support because her public comments on RvW are pretty clear, and probably less likely to have assaulted someone...
But I digress...

I disagree - the dims have weaponized the MeToo movement at their convenience. They are trying to change justice to guilty until accused have proved their innocence. I think it will backfire on the dims on Feinstein.

How exactly could one have vetted K prior to putting him up for nomination that would have discovered these women waiting in the wings to tell their story?

You're out of your damned mind and this only plays this way with the "Trump Free-Base Addicts."
Your only goal in this is to pack the court with conservative justices. This faux loyalty to Brett Kavanaugh shows just how dumb Trump and his base are...
At the expense of votes in 45 days you're going to try and ram through a guy who may or may not be a bit rape-y at times. Probably not but its beside the point... what loyalty does Kavanaugh command or deserve where your only goal is court packing...?
More detachment from reality...
Its really too bad the GOP didn't have a 40 something, woman, conservative, jurist, on their short list...
.. oh wait.
Its been poorly played and I can assure you GOP senators would do the happy dance if Kavanaugh just removed himself so they can push someone else through...

They had their knives ready for the 40-something woman too...or weren't you paying attention back then?
I believe they had started in earnest with the "Christian wingbat loon" mantra the moment her name was mentioned...
And oh yeah, they labeled her a cult member as well...forgot about that for a minute...

The same way the FBI does it with other people.
Personally, I've talked with FBI agents regarding some of my friends. They call you. Set up a time to show up and then ask you a bunch of crazy off-the-wall questions.

Yes they could have avoided it all by naming Garland. Anyone else on the short list would be carved up on trumped up accusations. you can bet on that.

The FBI ran 6 security checks on this guy.
You have lost your mind and if you do not see how political this is, you are truly part of the dim cult. Are you and you family a multimillionaire like the dem leaders have made themselves with kickbacks and insider information, or you just one of their followers looking for handouts?

Yup...
Defending against the standard political attacks of she's anti-abortion/Christian is quite a bit easier than "possible sexual predator."
You pull Kavanaugh and put her up the second the stuff you weren't prepared to deal with breaks... Democrats can only mount so many attacks before they begin to look desperate and disingenuous.
Again your goal is court-packing... nothing else... but lets not put it past the Trump Free-base movement to lose sight of that...
