Another tax idea fails…LA blows it again
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...a-instead.html
As predicted:
“LA's luxury house sales plummet 70 PERCENT in the first year since its hated 'mansion tax' was brought in as millionaires chose to live outside the city in Beverly Hills, Malibu and Santa Monica instead
Launched April 2023, the policy levied a four percent tax on all $5M plus homes
But a year later Measure ULA saw luxury house sales drop by nearly 70 per cent
Realtor Hooman Ghaffari blasted the move 'a sham' that has sales 'unworkable'”

They also stink at math, they probably don't even know how to set-up a simple math problem on a calculator.
If they did they would realize because McDonalds is so huge the CEO pay of a reported $17.8 million a year isn't that big of a financial impact. If you spread out the CEO pay to all McDonald employees they would get a whooping $118.66 a year. They act like cutting CEO pay down would allow the restaurant workers much higher pay.
When I was in school McDonald's workers were mostly part time HS and College kids, it was not meant as a career to support a family on. I wonder if the fast food pay at $20 an hour in California will effect the areas off the beaten path with cheap housing?

I wonder if the starting at $2,999 a month rental price is for everything shown? I have a feeling it is not, if it is that seems like a decent deal. If you sold wings and fries 10 hrs a day you are looking at $10hr for labor and use of equipment. My cooking skills are very limited so I must ask, can you put more in the basket than that thing is doing to increase productivity? With all the rinsing it must go through a lot of water. Since it says it requires 63amps at 230 3phase I am guessing they might be showing a base system. I have no idea what a fat fryer uses, I would figure similar to an electric oven or water heater.

Not only that, but insurance, especially Worker's Comp, is based off wages, so if you increase wages, you increase insurance costs.

Doesn't everybody get a social security tax statement that shows your contribution and in the printing says the employer matches it? Or do they only send those out when you reach a certain age?
