who doesn't love Curt Hoover

he just said these late odds changes wear you down! i was on the same horse as him. the horse was in the gate 8-1 and crossed the line 3-1. this one i don't believe had to much to do with after the bell wagers. by my calculations the horse should have been 7-1. this one looked like the CAW knocked it down in price.

here's what i do know, i have been losing consistently this whole century. turn back the hands of time, i had been winning every year from the late 60's to the year 2000. most of my action back then did not have rebates or discounts like they do now.

Always a fan of Kurt Hoover, when I first started following the sport I used to watch him and Mike Willman on Fox Sports West through Direct TV. Watching their one hour show each day from Santa Anita or Hollywood kept me up to date on California racing. Talked to him at a couple of Breeders Cups, a nice guy who is friendly to fans. Asked him in a beer line at Del Mar about some weird odds that were being shown on the TV, he said that was something they were supposed to promote but did not put much stock in them himself. Glad he is still on TVG, survived the Fox sportschannels and HRTV cuts.

Kurt seemed to be the one person that worked at HRTV that actually realized there was a racetrack other than Santa Anita. He always spoke knowledgeable about Hollywood Park and the east coast tracks and I was happy to see him land on TVG. He seems to be on the "B" team at best at TVG as he rarely is on the TVG travelling team.
He also seems to know the industry from the racing office as well as the barns to the track. It is good to hear some broadcaster speaking out against these ridiculous changing odds DURING the race.
IMO all of these broadcasters should be based in Kentucky as that is the center of the industry. I know it is much easier to attract the off air talent from those that can't get hired in tv/movies but California racing is the land of 5 horse fields, trainers with sketchy pasts and a product that is tough for a bettor to make money on.
